Individually hand-crafted polymer-clay beads, made in the beautiful
Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, AUSTRALIA. Made using the age old
"Millefori" bead-making techniques of Italy with a dash of new technology
and a pinch of artistic license, these beads bear a slight resemblance to
the so-called "AFRICAN TRADE BEADS" that have roamed our planet for
centuries.
The 'bead-artist", having had years of experience with her own
hair-wrapping business, started making beads through necessity, which led
to increased levels of design which has led to BEAD ISLAND. The
jewellery-making (bracelets, anklets, necklaces) or larger holes for hair
wraps, plaits, or all-over hair braids, or
hair-extensions.
These hand-made beads could also be incorporated easily into
jewellery that has been fashioned specifically for sale in surf board and
surf clothing outlets. Specific designs, logos and lettering can also be
reproduced in the polymer clay. Corporate logos... almost anything is
possible.
