Cream was the first "supergroup" the world ever knew, each of them said to be "the best of the best" on their instruments. The band name was actually derived from their self-assured attitude that they were the "cream" of the crop. (Jack Bruce on bass, Eric Clapton on guitar, and Ginger Baker on drums.)

Disraeli Gears

Although the band was only together for two years, they managed to release four monumental albums to be listened to, studied, and worshiped by millions around the globe.

All of them still have successful careers in the music industry. Eric Clapton went on to form the short-lived but incredible band Derek and the Dominoes before going solo. Jack is still going strong; he was recently involved with Ringo and his All-Starr band. I was privelaged enough to go see them in May '97 and Jack is still as amazing as ever. Ginger Baker formed "Ginger Baker's Air Force" in the 70's. He played on the Masters of Reality album "Sunrise on the Sufferbus" in 1992. Now he plays with "The Ginger Baker Trio" with Charlie Hayden, a famous jazz double bassist.
