| This is a page devoted to my Chinchillas. Chinchillas are rodents that are native to South America. Unfourtunately, most people associate chinchillas with expenseive coats. Hopefully, after going through my site, you will understand that these wonderful creatures are so much more than a cruel fashion statement. Enjoy! |
| Think you want a Chinchilla? |
| Chinchillas are nocturnal, so they'll be playing and making noise all night long. |
| They are not usually cuddly animals by nature. They like attention, but mainly on their terms. |
| Chinchillas are intolerable to heat over 75 degrees F. They must be kept cool. |
| Chinchillas usually will not bite and do not get fleas or smell. As a general rule, most people with allergies aren't allergic to them. |
| BELLE: |
| Belle is a Standard female. She is almost two years old. Standard is the same as grey. It is the most common color for Chinchillas. She is very loving, but quite temperamental at times. |

| ASHER: |
| Asher was my Black Velvet, or Touch of Velvet, male, Belle's mate. He passed away on December 8, 2003. He was greatly loved, and is sorely missed. |

| CHLOE: |
| Chloe is my baby female and the crazy of the bunch.. She is a very dark Hetero Ebony. She was born October 11, 2003 and is going to *hopefully* be a buddy for Belle. |

| LEVI: |
| Levi is my 'rescue' boy. He's a year and a half old standard male. I got him from a family that was going to take him to the petshop and was feeding him birdseed. With lots of TLC, he's making a strong comeback and has a marvelous chance at a full and healthy life now. |

| Chinchillas come in so many beautiful colors, also known as 'mutations'. Greenwood Chinchillas has EXCELLENT examples of each mutation. |

| BIANCA: |
| Bianca and Benjamin were pet shop rescues. They were listed as a 'Breeding Pair' and had been there for about 2 1/2 months, so if she was pregnant, she'd be due soon. This was around my birthday, so I picked them up as a birthday present from my husband. Now they have a chance at a wonderful and happy life. |

| Dan, Fiona, Simeon & Grace were born to Ben and Bea on May 12, 2005. They are such a joy and the cutest things ever! Watch them grow with me! |
