METCHA-T HENT EM SHU I

(abridged version)

INTRODUCTION:

This series of texts deals with the masculine current of energy , and is meant to be a companion to Metcha-t Kat em Tafnut. The exercise in this text work the downward and outward movement of breath and are intended for both the priest and priestess. The masculine current in it the vital essence, the primal impetus, its’ movement governs the expression of latent potential in the ego, the body and the soul specifically and the fertility in nature in general. Imbalance in this current can results in the lose of fertility, soul death, and the debauch of creation. In this current age the masculine current is equally discordant in both men and women, the difference being one of innate geometry and expression. Thus education in this area for the priest and priestess is of primary importance.

THE 'DIVINE SPARK’

The vital current of force which gives life to creation is both masculine and feminine in polarity.

The task of the priest and priestess when learning Hent em Shu is to understand how the masculine current of energy interacts with the feminine and how to balance this interaction so as to promote life and vitality. Once mastered- self and creation move together: manifesting their latent potential in accord with MAA-T.

To this end the priest and priestess must first understand that: All that can be seen, heard, touched, sensed and thought is Goddess.... and that all else is God.

When asked to describe the nature of the Goddesses Isis and Nepthys , the ancients replied ‘ Isis is all that can be perceived , and Nepthys is all that cannot.’ In this format Osiris is everything else. Reality throughout eternity is Goddess, and that which experiences eternity is God. Thus the divine masculine is the primal impetus which sets all things on course towards their destinies, and the divine feminine is the realifying power which constitutes that destiny.

The priest and priestess must also understand that, the natural state of the masculine current is to be seated within the feminine.

In the beginning - the infinite and the finite became conscious of each other. And in that eternal moment creation through out eternity was manifested as ocean of undelineated consciousness called TESHERU or ‘the limit of timelessness’ by the ancients.

Within this primal womb both UN (being) and NN(non-being) , the two supreme expressions of the divine feminine, existed as a unified universal ground. And it was from the interaction of these 2 that the potential for distinction arose from a state of inertia. The culmination of this potential is synonymous with the moment of universal self awareness. Such self awareness being the primal impetus which shattered perpetuity of Tesheru into energy, time, space , and form.

The ‘primal impetus’ called TCHE by the ancients is the divine spark from which creation derives its ability to be and become, and as such is the very substance of the masculine current.

TCHE-T is universal love, will and desire which fans the spark into a flame. It is the very foundation of creation and as such is the substance of the feminine current.

The power of the primal impetus is rooted in partiality of being.

Suspended between being and non being , and existing as both ‘all’ and ‘a part’ of eternity: Its’ nature is paradoxical and volatile.

Words and thoughts cannot express this idea completely because both are manifestations of Goddess. But we can use them to talk around the meaning as best we can.

THE POWER OF PARADOX:

The paradoxical nature of the masculine current expresses itself in 3 ways:

In the realm of the infinite self, Primal Impetus seeks expression, and is transformed by the Goddess into time, space and multitudinous forms throughout eternity. The paradox here lies in the necessity of the ‘all one’ becoming the ‘many’ to fulfill its latent potential for expression. Thus:

To fulfill the full potential of omnipotence, omnipotence must be sacrificed in favor of mortality. This is the 1st paradox leading to MANIFESTATION

In the realm of the finite self primal impetus seeks completion, and thus is motivated by the Goddess to seek out and merge with ‘the other’.

The paradox here lies in the limited self’s perception of being whole, and yet incomplete. (This feeling of partiality, being the power of the unknowable working to remind the ego that it is a mere facet of self. )

‘Mortal’ by definition means bounded, temporal, and transient. When the limits of mortality are crossed the limited self enters into oblivion to be reborn.

There fore to successfully merge with the ‘other’ the self must lose its’ mortal existence. For only then can the self embody ever higher states of completion, and renew its infinite potential to be and become. Thus :

To fulfill the potential of mortality, mortality must be sacrificed in favor of omnipotence. This is the 2nd paradox leading to OBLIVION

The need for completion culminates in the need for expression and visa-versa with self sacrifice as the tool of transformation.

Self Sacrifice is the primary expression of the masculine current.

Having the grace to accept the responsibilities of omnipotence, we sacrifice it in favor of mortality, becoming all things within eternity.

Having the grace to accept the limits of our mortality , we are able to sacrifice our former-selves and thus transcend our mortal destiny.

Faith in our hidden potential and the unknowable facets of our being, gives us the strength to cross the threshold of oblivion, and survive the journey.

The balance between mortality and omnipotence is a ever-changing one. And it is in the realm between absolutes where balance is struck, and the true nature of ‘Self’ is revealed. In this way expression is achieved by way of completion and visa-versa, ad-infinitum. Thus :

To known the true nature of self, the self must be sacrificed . This is the 3rd paradox , This is the 3rd paradox leading to TRANSCENDENCE

It should by now be clear that the masculine current of TCHE stands between the realms of being and non-being, reality and delusion, knowledge and ignorance, good and evil.

‘All seeing ‘ yet blind to its own nature, it is both ‘all’ and ‘a part’ of creation simultaneously.

Such is the mystery, of the triumph and fall of the soul.

If used well it can empower the us to transcend fate, by pulling circumstance from the jaws of disaster.

But the priest and priestess should note, that the power of paradox also makes the masculine current unstable and volatile.

Being both omnipotent and mortal, both limitless and circumscribed, its’ identity is easily destabilized. And with destabilization empathy with creation is lost.

When empathy is lost, acts of creation and destruction, serve only to increase error, denial, and confusion. Such is the horror of the death of the soul and the debauch of creation.

THE MASCULINE CURRENT AND THE EGO

The ocean of pure awareness throughout eternity say ‘ I AM’ The ‘I’ being representative of the paradoxical quality of the masculine current and the ‘AM’ being the realifying power of the feminine current which is rooted in love, will, and desire.

The statement ‘I’ is paradoxical in that it both emphatically declares its’ autonomous existence while at the same time questioning the potential latent in that existence.

It embraces both knowledge and ignorance, thus placing it at the core of paradox. It is both complete in its power and partial in its understanding of self. It is the mirror on which the unknowable processes of creation are reflected.

‘Am’ is a integrating statement because it is a unconditional loving affirmation, of the potential latent within ‘I’ . This affirmation realizes itself in the form of : universal knowledge, forms, and causal relationships which exist relative to the nature of ‘I’.

It can therefore be seen that the divine feminine gives masculine energy form, volition, and consequence. The ‘I’ enters into the ‘AM’ and is manifested in myriad transformations until it comes to know itself.

Thus the movement of the Goddess can be seen in the causal relationships which give rise to time, space, form , life, death, growth, decay etc.

And the movement of the God can be seen in that which, is born and dies, hopes and dreams , strives and falls, lives and wonders.

The eternal ‘I’ encompasses the infinite totality of the soul, the ego, and the body. In this construct the ego acts as the mediator, working to balance the needs of the greater with those of the lessor through the mechanism of reflection.

This function makes the ego the focal point for the expression of the masculine current within the world of form. And as the focal point for individualized expression the ego holds within itself the greatest potential for both clarity and error.

In the below illustration the 2 circles of infinite and finite being manifest the self as a by- product of their intersection.

The large middle broken circle represents the totality of self through out eternity. The smaller broken circle represents all can be consciously known or experience through the limited self of the ego.

Each of the 3 dimensions of being has a related center in the human body. (As above ,so below.)

The ego is but a tiny shard of the infinite mirror that is the of the ocean of pure awareness. Its independent existence is a delusion.

The ego is also the platform from which we set our limited will and earthly desires into motion. The primary expression of which is through the 4 temporal bodies. ( the KA, Sahu, Skhem, and the Khat)

The below illustration is the ancient representation of the three circles.

The infinite is represented as the serpent surrounding and biting its own tail. This is MEHEN the serpent of eternity whose physical organ is the 3rd eye. The lower serpent is APEP whose physical organ is the belly or womb. Apep represents the energy of entropy which works in opposition to eternity.

In the center is the spirit of the king in the form of a ram headed bird. There is no serpent surrounding this central figure because the delusionary nature of reality has been overcome, transforming the self into the focal nexus for these two vast forces.

In this way the ancients sought to transcend the abyss, which is born of the innate limitations of the EGO .

THE 3 FORMS OF IGNORANCE AND ERROR:

The Infinite being of the soul, the reflective nature of the ego and the mortal body are all facets of the ‘I’, which seek dominion over the others within the ‘AM’. This struggle centers around the temptation to embrace the ‘one as many’, verses the necessity of embracing the ‘many as one’.

The One as Many Vs The Many as ONE - 1st falsity: denial of the real

The Great Delusion -

To embrace the ‘one as many’ is to accept the delusion of self and creation as being a compilation of separate parts: the greater of which holding dominion over the lessor in pyramid fashion.

The delusion of separateness arising from the perception of ‘one as many’ is good and necessary because it empowers the omnipotent to cloth itself in myriad forms. The danger comes when we cease to acknowledge the delusional nature of this power seeing it instead as the one real, definitive paradigm.

Here a imbalance in the masculine current causes it to seek dominion over the feminine by fostering the delusion of the ego as the center of creation. In this paradigm, created things exist only as objects of desire over which the ego seeks dominion.

The notion that the ego can be the center of creation is of course false, because it is to limited a construct to hold such power. In reality often serves as a witless puppet to the desires of the finite bodies, its’ false dominion being the eye of the delusion.

In this construct, the validity of all things exist relative their subservience to the ego. The soul which exists in eternity is thought to be fantasy. The only reality being the egos’ existence within the confines of the body.

The ego thus embraces a existence which begins at birth and ends with the death of the body. And this causes the material cravings of the body to give rise to a endless maze of desire, dualities and indulgences.

Love and hate, happiness and sorrow, right and wrong, conquest and subjugation, good and evil: endless dualities devoid of meaning.

The truth of the self and creation is everlasting ,unknowable and unquantfiable, and it is through the 1st falsehood that the eternal truth is distorted into something limited and quantifiable - allowing error to germinate.

The Great Truth -

To embrace the ‘many as one’ is to accept the view that self and created things are but reflections of a infinite whole. In this construct the masculine current follows the feminine causing the ego to become a conduit, through which the soul can use the body as its’ temple and vehicle of expression.

Here each of the 3 facets of being work together with creation in equanimity. With the delusion of separateness taking it’s place as one of the many tools of expression, being appropriate in its’ place and time.

All dualities are seen as relativistic, and each of the 3 facets of being are allowed to express themselves to the benefit of the whole. In this way limitless diversity, growth and nurturance, is achieved throughout eternity.

The play of delusion and truth does no less than manifest all that is. To lose the ability to distinguish truth from delusion is to lay a foundation of falsehood on which all else is built.

Death of the Divine Masculine - 2nd falsity: extinguishing the eternal soul

Creation without the divine masculine would be barren still and devoid of vital potential.

When the masculine current is stifled life becomes a meaningless web of causal relationship, whose destiny is static and unchanging. Created things move through their lives like automatons until the finality of death claims them. Change moving within change - forever devoid of meaning.

Prolonged and dynamic application of the 1st falsehood: ‘ denial of the real’ works to , obscure the true nature of self thus stifling the masculine current. Soon ignorance extinguishes the light of the soul by severing the bond joining the eternal and finite. Self is lost to self, estranging us from ourselves and from each other. In this way error grows, unites with error, giving rise to error adnifinitum.

Death of the Divine Feminine - 3rd falsity : the debauch of creation

Without the divine feminine there would be no life or creation, no eternity or void, no emptiness or fullness, or even consciousness: Only absence, and potential forever unrealized.

When the feminine current is stifled, the harmonious flow of causation is disrupted and life loses validation and purpose. Existence becomes a meaningless play of endless dualities adnifinitum.

With attachment to the play of love Vs hate, life Vs death, self Vs other, and good Vs evil - the eternal cycles which sustain and nurture creation are transformed into cycles of error and confusion.

Soon the prolonged application of error leads to dissolution of the substrate upon which reality is built. This occurs because the synergetic movement of creation between order and chaos is disrupted.

Thus as each cycle of error culminates: self and creation move one more step down the path of confusion, to destruction.

Prolonged dynamic application of the 2nd falsehood: ‘ extinguishing the soul’ brings this to pass. And it is through this form of ignorance that the light of the world is debauched and error reaches fruition.

Thus the priest and priestess should see that error germinates with the egos’ denial of the real- is born with the corruption of the masculine current- and reaches fruition with the rape of the feminine current. Denial of the real leading to the corruption of one, and to the debauch of the other.

It should also be seen that denial, error and ignorance walk hand in hand. Thus to embrace one is to embrace all three, and thus realize a endless cycle of debauchery and error.

FOLLOWING AND ALLOWING

The path of error can only be averted by acknowledging the real, following the truth of creation, and allowing ones self to naturally accord with reality and truth. This is the art of ‘ following and allowing’.

It should be clear by now that the ‘masculine current’ does not refer to men or males specifically but to a aspect of creation, which both males and females partake of in different measure. And it is the shades of gray created by the particulars, which give the interaction of these 2 currents its’ flavor and complexity.

The masculine current arises from and returns to the feminine and as such is the pivot point for creation. It is the universal reflection of the feminine totality and as such serves as its’ compliment in form and function.

The masculine is forever housed within and dependent upon the feminine for its’ existence and harmonious expression. It forever seeks to, follow, enter into, and blend with the feminine in order to realize its innate potential to be and become.

‘Following and Allowing’ refers to the process by which the masculine current achieves harmony with creation:

‘ Primal Impetus’ must enter into eternity to be manifested as a soul.

The soul must enter into creation to gain physical form.

The embodied self must enter into the world, to fulfill its’ innate potential.

Man must enter into woman to fulfill his biological potential.

‘The self’ must enter into oblivion and be reborn.

This is the eternal dance, of ‘following and allowing’.

The masculine current in its natural state is passive and mercurial. It abides within the feminine current as it moves through its transformations. Its’ modalities forever in flux but its’ essential nature remaining constant.

‘Self sacrifice’ are the key element in the process of ‘following and allowing’. And it is the mechanisms of self sacrifice and paradox that gives the masculine current it’s extreme plasticity.

The feminine current seeks balance, by moving creation into and out of the voidness of NU. This movement is called ‘vibration’ and has 5 pairs of complimentary expressions which together manifest all phenomenon. (SEE CHART)

The masculine current seeks expression and completion. Since the masculine current moves within the feminine, it also has 5 primary expressions. But unlike their feminine counter parts these states are singular.

The overt harmonious expression of the masculine current in nature always accords with the climax of the feminine, for the first moves within the other. Thus its mode of manifestation is relative to the feminine vehicle through which its expression is made manifest.

To manifest actions in harmony with creation one must follow the will and timing of nature. Thus in esoteric practice, when seeking to manifest events in harmony the feminine current must always lead.

This is following : the masculine abiding within the feminine, manifesting harmonious action.

Learning to follow and allow in all things is the key to mastering the masculine current.

Creation is Love and Ritual is Joy -

Creation supports the desires and actions of all creatures unconditional and with equanimity. This makes unconditional love the primary quality of creation.

Created things are singular expressions of the unconditional love which manifested them, and thus joyous calm is the natural state of all things.

True joy arises from existing in harmony with the ebb and flow of change, free of contrivance open and awake.

True joy is based in inner calm because it is a manifestation of universal harmony and thus transcends all dualities.

When we exist free of contrivance we remember our true state as manifestations of universal love and all of our actions become manifestations of joy.

‘Contrivance’ refers to mental, emotional, and physical programming and inhibitions which restrict the expression of innate potential.

Allowing means letting ourselves exist: free of contrivance in our natrual state of harmonious joy.

FOLLOWING means allowing ones actions accord loving harmony of creation.

ALLOWING means permitting the body ,mind and soul to exist in their natural state of joy and calm.

When we follow and allow our being and actions follow the will and timing of nature automatically.

Surrendering to openness and allowing freedom to culminate.

Surrendering to clarity and allowing truth to culminate.

Surrendering to calm and allowing creation to culminate.

This is the harmonious expression of the masculine current as it moves through the feminine.

The task for the priest and priestess is to means free ones’ self of inhibition and contrivance.

In ritual the priestess and priest each strive to embody, conduit and unite the power of their natural current. Sacrificing the limited ego so as to follow the will and timing of power and nature.

The Tantric Union of Polarities in Ritual-

In ritual the priest embodies the paradoxical energies of the masculine current: becoming the selfless, desireless expression of universal impetus. The priestess embodies the manifesting will , and universal desire of the feminine current: which leads primal impetus towards manifesting its innate potential in harmony.

Following:

To follow in ritual strongly the priest must destroy the ego, thus allowing the higher and lower selves to join within him.

Freed of contrivance he is transformed into a well spring for the primal impetus that empowers creation. He becomes the universal life force which, effortlessly uplifts all creation, and which nourishes the soul.

The challenge of the priest is to surrender himself completely to the manifesting power of creation embodied in the priestess or in the feminine current in nature.*

Egoless, desireless, he sacrifices himself on the altar of the eternity, with only the vain hope that he will be reborn in a countenance which can scarcely be imagined. In this way he opens the door for limitless possibilities to manifest.

* all places of power such as caves, groves, old growth forests, plains, lakes, wind, storm clouds, hurricanes, tornadoes, brush fires, wells, swamp, old mountains, deserts, planetary conjunctions of the outer planets, solar eclipse energies. Artificial structures such as labyrinth’s, mazes, temples, circles, houses, crossroads, doors, gates, and tunnels. Also sunlight

Leading:

To lead in ritual strongly the priestess must sacrifice the ego, allowing the unknowable facets of creation to express themselves through her .

Freed of contrivance she expands: embodying all desire and becoming desireless, embodying all knowledge become the inviolable mystery, embodying all forms becoming formlessness, and embodying all causality becoming timelessness.

As the living embodiment of the creative principle she, consumes the primal impetus and in so doing destroys and creates infinite universes, in accord with her will.

The challenge of the priestess is to consume master and shape the primal impetus embodied by the priest or in the masculine current in nature.**

Embodying the power of creation she burns away the masks of delusion revealing the divine impetus within. Then taking that seed into herself se gives it new expression in accord with universal will and desire.

** all places of power such as lighting, geysers, springs, rivers, waterfalls, young mountains, standing rocks, planetary conjunctions of the inner planets, lunar eclipse energies. Artificial structures such as office building, parks, roads, motor vehicles, construction sites. Also moonlight

One should notice that the methods of the work is the same for both priestess and priest, but the application is different.

MAA-T AND THE MOVEMENT OF VITALITY:

The path of allowing and following the ebb and flow of creation and consciousness is nothing less than seeking accord with MAA-T.

When we accord ourselves with MAA-T our inner harmony resonates with the harmony of nature, the one giving rise to and promoting growth in the other.

When inner and outer harmony resonate, individual will, desire, and actions vitality join with those of nature, freeing all things to abide in their natural places.

Harmony , resonating with harmony, giving rise to harmony adinfinitum. This is the path of MAA-T.
