David Lee Morton

     INDIANAPOLIS — Graveside services for the extended family of David Lee Morton, 66, Naples, Fla., formerly of Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.  A memorial service will be held at St. Monica’s Episcopal Church in Naples, Fla. at a later date.
     He died at 11:09 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in Naples Community Hospital Downtown in Naples, Fla.  He had been a Naples, Fla., resident since 1985.
     Born June 3, 1941, in Logansport, he was the son of Paul L. and Mary Anna Barr Morton.  He was a 1959 graduate of Logansport High School, a 1963 graduate of Harvard University, and a 1966 graduate of Indiana University Law School, Bloomington.
     Mr. Morton had retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major serving in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  He served in the Vietnam War, stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam and additionally was stationed overseas in Thailand and West Germany.  He was a Bronze Star recipient for meritorious service.  He had been in private practice as an attorney for several years and remained a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
     Surviving include his brothers, Stephen and wife, Susan Morton, Cottonwood, Minn.; Douglas and wife, Lois Morton, Rochester; sister, Kathleen Winters, Fairfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
