PRAYERS NEEDED FOR CLASSMATES
LHS 1959

ARCHIVE           updated 4-22-07
Linda McIntyre Scott is due to have surgery on Thursday, the 26th of April, 2007, to remove a lump near her ear.  For years, Linda has been struggling with lymphoma and has had other similar surgeries, each time with the fear of a serious cancer. Please pray for Linda at this time in her and her family's life. Please pray for healing, courage, understanding and peace. She and her family would be so appreciative of your prayers at this time.      Nancy Rozzi Cain had a 6 hour long heart surgery May 16. 2005, in Indianapolis at the Heart Center.  The doctors replaced two valves and did one bypass.  It was a very rough surgery but she came through it okay.  Nancy is expected to be in the hospital for a week.
Mary Jo talked to Jack Cain about 3 p.m. on May 17; Nancy was sitting in a chair and hanging in there (of course.)  It is the water we drank in good old Logan that keeps us going.  Our prayers are working.....keep it up... (6-21-05)
Jude Cunningham Weber had to have a pace maker put in on Friday, May 6. She was not feeling well on Thursday and was feeling weird as she put it--still felt that way Friday morning and drove herself to the Emergency Room in Ft. Myers, FL.  Her heart rate was 25-30 beats per minute and they immediately put in a pace maker; and in the process, perforated her lung.
She just came home today (9th) as they kept her to make sure her lung would not collapse.  Her son, Todd, is with her now but will be returning tonight.   She can't raise her arm for a week and can do nothing for 3 weeks.  After that she is free to resume normal things.
Jude's golf game has had to be put on hold, but she is thankful that she is mending. Prayers for a full healing would be appreciated. (6-21-05)
Judy Cunningham Weber has recently asked for prayers for her husband Roy. Roy's cancer has returned and has spread.  The doctors have given Roy from six months to a year to live. Judy and Roy have not given up and are checking into every possible option. They thank you for your prayers for healing and your prayers for the strength and courage to face this terrible disease.  (12-5-04)  Roy passed away in February, 2005. (6-21-05)
Joanne Townsley VanDrent, sends this promising message to share: "I am getting stronger daily and the wheel chair is in the garage!! Thank you for your support thruout this challenge!!"  She has been diagnosed with scleroderma, an auto-immune disease, that she has evidently had for about ten years. She and her husband Jay could still use a prayer and some encouragement via e-mail at: joannevandrent@aol.com    (3-24-01) Picture of Joanne and her husband.
Daniel Cotner has sent more information: "I have recovered and was released to go back to work.  Now if I can get the secretary to fax a release to my place of work I might get started 1/2 days before thanksgiving.  I passed a treadmill stress test on Thur., in fact they shut down the machine, I didn't ask to stop but they felt like the heart rate was getting a little high and it didn't want to return to resting as fast as they thought it should.  So dr. put me on a very small amount of Beta Blocker and keep up my walks and go back to work. Trouble is at work all I do is set in front of a computer.  I'll increase my walks after work. The surgeon liked what he saw and said he didn't want to see me for another 20 yrs. Sounds good to me.  No restrictions.  If I was doing it before the surgery I can do it again only better.  He kept me on meds for 3 months and then that is all.  Family doctor has me on Lipitor for ever now to make sure I go the 20 yrs.  Don't know what it is supposed to do but I can live with it.  Sure feels good not to have any serious meds to worry about the rest of my life.  For some reason some people come out of this with a ton of meds and don't feel any better, either.
I do and am going back to work.  Thanks for the concern and may you and everyone have a very happy and thankful Thanksgiving." (11-19-2000)
Dan had a heart attack on Sept. 10th and has since had bypass surgery.
