Stuff about me...
Hey all.  Thanks for checking out my website.  Chances are if you came across it you already know me, but there's always that off-chance that some totally random person finds my site interesting, so for all you who don't know me, or wish to know me better, here you go, a page all about me.  Yay!  I know you're day will now be complete.

I just completed my freshman year at
Wesleyan University (THE Wesleyan), located in Middletown, CT.  Just to clarify, when I say Wesleyan (Wes), I do not mean Ohio Wesleyan, Illinois Wesleyan, or any of the 50 other Wesleyans with a state in front of it.  Nor do I mean that "small, all-girls school located just outside Boston."  That would be Wellesley you are thinking of.  And if you're still scratching you're heading, thinking "What the hell kinda shit school does this girl belong to?" all I can do is quote Dara when she said to those guys across the hall at Montreal:  "Come on, top 10 liberal arts school!"

Yeah, so enough talk about school.  It's time for some background information for anyone who cares.  "It was Philadelphia where I was born and raised...."  Wait, go back "It was Philadelphia where I was born..."  and then my family proceeded to move to northern Jersey, to a nice little suburb of NYC,  when I was 3 months old.  I can't complain too much.  Aside from the ultra-preppy people who are completely obsessed with Abercrombie (an obsession I do not share), I've made some truly wonderful friends.

I live with my parents and sister Dana who is currently 13 years old.  No pets, unfortunately (unless you count my virtual pet fish Moby).  Over the years I've had numerous REAL fish, but who hasn't?  And as far as pets go, they kinda suck.  My only "real" pet was a hamster when I was in seventh grade.  His name was Hamlet, Hammy for short.  I got the inspiration for his name while watching Doug (you know, that cartoon that used to be on Nickelodean but is now on ABC).

Ok, so enough rambling about random shit.  Oh, wait, that's all I ever do.... Yeah....  So anyway, here's so more useless/entertaining/interesting information about me
Real Name: Beverly (middle name Lisa, in case you wondering)

What people ACTUALLY call me: Bev, Bev'ly, Bevy, Bevy-boo, Bevly-boo, B, Beaverly (bascially, any variation on the Beverly you can think of), & Circe Nightshade (refer to the goth page in order to better understand this)

Birthday: September 27, 1982 (making me a Libra, not that I care about that astrology shit, and 18 years old.  Btw, I expect a birthday present.  Gotta make up for the fact that my birthday falls on Yom Kippur this year.  How much does that suck?!)

Marital Satus: Engaged, lol (refer to the last party page in order to understand).  But actually, I am taken.  Sorry, boys.  As of June 5 my best friend at school, Evan, and I have been dating, and I could not be happier!! Awwwww!  : )

Favorite
Color: Purple (hence the background)

Favorite music group/mus
ician:  Well, I don't actually have a favorite, though I like a wide variety of music, including Techno, Rock, Pop (yes, I am known to like the occasional boy-band/Britney song, but I am not one of those screaming teenagers who cries everytime out of sheer happiness everytime their faces pops up on the TV), classical, some punk and Ska (thanks to my roomate, Mem, and other friends from school), 80s music, oldies & other stuff
Here's just a sampling of some of the groups/musicians I like: Prodigy, Pilfers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Guster, The Doors, The Cars, No Doubt, Steve Miller Band, Beatles, Ben Folds Five, Dave Matthews Band, the soundtrack from the play Rent, Cranberries, Tracy Bonham, Aimee Mann, a capella stuff (I discovered that UPenn's Off the Beat is really good, not to mention the a capella groups at Wesle
yan)

Favorite TV
shows:  Friends, Dawson's Creek, Will & Grace, Just Shoot Me, That 70s Show, Charmed (that show with Shannon Doherty & Alissa Milano, I think I'm one of maybe 3 people in the world who actually watch it), The Real World, Temptation Island (for the short time it was on)

Favorite M
ovies:  Empire Records, 10 Things I Hate About You, She's All That, Center Stage (I'm a sucker for cheezy teen flicks), Ferris Beuller's Day Off, just about anything Disney (particularly Aladdin, Cindarella, Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Lady & the Tramp, etc.), The Sixth Sense, PCU (which happens to be based on Wesleyan), I really like horror movies (I do not, recommend, however, the Friday the 13th series.  I saw the first 3, which was a mistake b/c they were all exactly the same!  trust me, seeing the first one should suffice)

Movies I Hated/Did not like/Found very painful to wat
ch: Wild Things (which I hated the first time and was FORCED to watch a second time!  Though I can understand why so many guys love it), Both Mission Impossible movies (couldn't unerstand either, couldn't even finish the first one), What Dreams May Come (again, couldn't even watch it till the end), The Beguiled (a Clint Eastwood movie I had to watch for a class--basically, he plays a Yankee soldier during the Civil War and tries to get it on with everyone in this all-girls school, from a 12-year-old student to the 50-year-old headmaster and everyone else in between...talk about dirty.  Though the ending was great!  But I won't tell you what happened), Batman & Robin was really bad (HORRIBLE acting on the part of Arnold & Uma Thurman, this movie was quite a dissapointment since I really liked the first three), The Cell & American Psycho (throughout both I kept questioning why I was still watching it)

Favorite
Books: I just finished reading The Green Mile, now I can see the movie!  Highly recommend it.  I used to be an avid little reader, but sadly between school, the internet, friends, and crappy mabazines, I haven't been reading as much as I used to. But anyway, here is a list of books/authors I have enjoyed reading over the past few years:

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

The Color Purple by Alice Walker

Summer Sisters by Judy Blume (I love anything by her)

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

A Hope in the Unseen by Ron Suskind

Walking on Walnuts by Nancy Ring

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe & Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man,                 both by Fannie Flagg (she is HYSTERICAL, her books are so funny!)

      Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen

Violet & Claire by Francesca Lia Block

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells
I love the Soup for the Soul books, and even though I've outgrown them now,        when I was younger I loved The Babysitter Club's series (my 4th grade teacher had to bribe me not to read them) & the Sweet Valley High series also, Carson McCullers writes excellent short stories, and The Rolling Stonemagazine has some amazing art
icles

What do I enjoy
doing?: playing tennis, reading (when I have the time), staying up late talking to friends (yeah, I do actually stay up late sometimes, surprise surprise), dancing (yeah, slut dance...hehe), shopping, going to Walmart, being "random," acting completely insane, singing when no one is around, watching tv reality shows with the 5.5 crew, reminiscing, playing showtunes on the piano (Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables)

How many piercings do I
have?: I know this is really random, but I'm all about randomness, and I'm damn proud of the nine holes I have in my ears!  Four in my left (one cartilage, three lobe), and five on my right.  Yeah, I'm quite the rebel : )  I was gonna get my belly-button pierced when I went to Israel in the summer of '98, but I decided not do, and now I really don't have any desire to anymore, sadly.

Well, for the moment that's all I can think to tell you about myself.  If anything should pop into my head, feel free to e-mail me
