And then we spent some time at Fry’s looking for a CD writer Nelson would like to bring back to Brasil. We ended up at Ned’s radio station, where Ned gave Nelson a tour (I’d had the grand tour before). He showed Nelson the main console where the “talent” sit during the show, and his own seat from which he adds witty [sic] commentary during the program. And he also showed us how he records the all-night show during the morning show. It’s all computerized, so while the nightowls of Sacramento are listening to Ned explound on things in life he finds frustrating, Ned is home in bed sleeping so he can get up at 4:30 to do the morning show. And the “small” fries is about the size of two large fries at McDonald’s (they are home-friend, too, not the prepackaged stuff you get from McDonald’s). Ned’s eyes were a little too big for his stomach and he took half of his hot dog home.

We were reliving our experiences in Seattle last month and making plans for our next adventure. Alaska, anyone?
At midnight, I started taping Ned’s overnight show for Nelson. This meant getting up every hour and a half to change the cassette tape, but I did get the show recorded. Of course now I’ve been up since 4 a.m....
