BAS ST-LAURENT
In this region the St.Lawrence meets the sea.  Fishing, as in all regions along the St.Lawrence is the main industry here.  What is most fascinating is the fog, which made me feel like I was in a sauna…not as warm, though.  :)
Rivière-du-Loup  (The Wolf River).  A small town of 18 000 across from Charlevoix, it is a major bus stop that connects Maritime bus routes to Quebec ones.  Since I had to wait for the bus here before going to Jardins des Métis in the middle of the night, I toured the town a bit and I saw this cathedral…the grey in the background is fog not cloud!
Reford Gardens.  These gardens are in Métis, halfway between Rimouski and Matane.  There is a microclimate here that is favourable for plant growth not found elsewhere in the region.  I spent the whole day here and I couldn’t believe it was mid-June with all the bloom!
