BROOKLYN & QUEENS
Two well-known boroughs of NYC that must be seen. Multicultural and residential, you won't find the traffic madness like in Manhattan, but you will find diverse foods and long, sometimes clean beaches. Here are a few highlights.....

Cristofaro Colombo St. in Bensonhurst, yes, another Little Italy. If ethnic neighbourhoods are your thing, these two boroughs are it! The most famous ones are Russian Brighton Beach and Greek Astoria, but there are many others as well.

A view of downtown Brooklyn. Brooklyn was once an independant city before it merged with the other boroughs in 1900. The skyline has changed little since then...proof for Montrealers of what happens to a merged city.

The Earth Statue in Flushing Meadows in Queens. Nice park to stroll in and get away from it all

Shea Stadium. I know it's home to the lowly Mets instead of the Yankees, but at least here I was able to get a picture. In the South Bronx, Yankee Stadium was surrounded by the highway, the subway and dense neighbourhoods...I couldn't get a decent shot!

The US Open Stadium. Interesting for tennis buffs. A real Grand Slam stadium. Period.
