HARLEM |

Since I was staying at the Sugar Hill Hostel on St. Nicholas and 146th in Harlem, I decided to start my tour there. For the record, I want to mention that Harlem is no more dangerous than any neighbourhood in Montreal. (If you think Montreal is dangerous, well,.....) |

This is the famous Abyssinian Baptist Church on 138th. If you're observant enough, you would notice there was a funeral, so I would not dare go inside and take a picture! |

This is the corner of 125th and Lenox or Malcolm X or Sixth Ave. If there are more names, please tell me......The skyscraper on the left is where Bill Clinton has his office where he can now do whatever he pleases :) You also notice in the shadow an entrance to the subway. |

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Italian church in Harlem on 115th!!! Until the 1920's, East Harlem (now El Barrio) had a large Italian community. Apart from a bakery (Morrone) across the street, I saw no other Italian businesses around......... |
