HARLEM
Since I was staying at the Sugar Hill Hostel on St. Nicholas and 146th in Harlem, I decided to start my tour there.  For the record, I want to mention that Harlem is no more dangerous than any neighbourhood in Montreal. (If you think Montreal is dangerous, well,.....)
This is the famous Abyssinian Baptist Church on 138th.  If you're observant enough, you would notice there was a funeral, so I would not dare go inside and take a picture!
Here we have typical rowhousing in Harlem.
This is the corner of 125th and Lenox or Malcolm X or Sixth Ave.  If there are more names, please tell me......The skyscraper on the left is where Bill Clinton has his office where he can now do whatever he pleases :)  You also notice in the shadow an entrance to the subway.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Italian church in Harlem on 115th!!!  Until the 1920's, East Harlem (now El Barrio) had a large Italian community.  Apart from a bakery (Morrone) across the street, I saw no other Italian businesses around.........
