UPPER EAST SIDE
To the east of Central Park, we have the Upper East Side.  Just as chic as its western counterpart, but with a heavy Latin (French and Latin American)and Jewish flavor.  It also has the Museum Mile, which includes the Guggenheim.  My Guggenheim picture was overexposed, but here are some of my pictures that turned out OK.
Museo El Barrio.  This museum gives a glimpse of Latin-American life in NYC.  El Barrio is supposedly dangerous, but I found it quite pleasant. This Museum is also the first in a string of museums along Fifth Avenue...the place for museum buffs.
Metropolitain Museum of Art.  The best of all the musuems in NYC.  I'm not an art buff at all, and yet it still took me four hours (and sore feet) to tour this place.  A must see.
The Egyptian temple inside the Met.  Apparently, this temple was in danger of being ruined after the US built the Al-Aswan dam on the Nile, so the Egyptian government gave it as a gift.  In other words, engineers don't do a good job and they get rewarded.....:)
The Islamic Center on 97th St.  Muslims have integrated well in NYC, as you'd see them in all neighbourhoods in all echelons of society, which proves that NYC is a place that truly accepts anybody.
St-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral on Lexington Ave.  A Canadian landmark for a change!  In the 19th century, there were 20 000 French-Canadians living in the Upper East Side, and they erected this church. You still hear French in this neighbourhood, but mostly from people from France.
