ABOUT ME
I HOPE THIS LITTLE ESSAY ABOUT ME WILL HELP YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHO I AM:
"In California, the streets are paved with gold!"
This is what my friends and I was thinking when we dreamed about living in California and about how our life will look like in the future. However, soon enough I realized that money rules the world, and that you have to work hard to reach your dreams and goals. Besides my organizing talent and my joy in dealing with people, I knew early on that money attracts money. In the business world money is the medium you deal with every day. So, I figured in business one could earn the most possible amount of money. I decided at that moment to become a business manager.
After being born and living for six years in Germany, my family and I moved back to Turkey. In Istanbul, I started the elementary school and completed the first three and a half years, before my six years older brother could convince my parents to move back to Germany for a better education for me and himself. After I overcame the language problems in the beginning, I finished elementary school in Mainz and was admitted in a privileged higher education middle school combined with a grammar school. In this competitive environment I was able to be elected student body president three years in a row. I finished the thirteenth grade and was on my way to realize my dream and moved to California. Here, I started of in the language school at UCR Extension where I was placed in the University Preparation Program which I finished after one semester. Afterwards, I transferred to Riverside Community College. I completed the necessary forty-seven units with a 3.95 GPA and I recently transfered to University of California Riverside. At UCR I aim for my Bachelors degree in business. When I can maintain my high GPA, I want to finish my education at UC Berkeley with a Masters degree in business. By then I am hopeful that a lot of doors will open for my future career. My goal is to work in top management for a notable, global, and exciting company.
Along my way, I was told often from people around me, sometimes people I called friends, that it is impossible for me to accomplish my goals. When I was talking to my friends in middle school about where I see myself in ten or fifteen years they sometimes laughed, because they didn't had the imagination that I have. Well, now I am here, studying business in United States half way through towards my long-term goal, and I strongly believe that I can accomplish everything I set my mind to. I just have to believe.
