| Roy Thomas left the highly lucrative field of high school education to work in comics. Landing at DC Comics in the mid-1960's, he spent a record- shattering two weeks as Mort Weisinger's assistant. Then he moved over to Marvel comics where some say he was handed the baton; others think he picked up the ball and ran with it; and a jealous few thought he was given the keys to the Caddy. Regardless of which account is accurate, a LARGE body of work was to follow by Mr. Thomas, highlighted by celebrated runs on "THE AVENGERS" and "CONAN THE BARBARIAN" to name but a very few. Mr. Thomas added to the foundation of Marvel with creations that have become canon. Later, returning to DC, Roy broke his previous endurance record there and created ANOTHER huge body of work distinguishing himself on titles such as "JSA" and the much remembered and much loved "INFINITY INC". Whether it be print, film or TV, Roy Thomas just keeps writing. He also publishes his excellent fanzine: "ALTER EGO". This publication has a unique perspective on comics that only Roy Thomas can provide. We have only touched on the barest surface of Roy's career. Now, let's chat with the man himself.
