Silas and Jeanette Tobey My grandfather, Silas Tobey (Sep 10, 1905 - May 20, 1986), wrote the below poem to my grandmother, Jeanette (Sep 02, 1908 - July 25, 1999) on April 21, 1986. He was 80 years old. |

I want you to know That I love you so, And have done so for years on end. Those years have been blessed, With treasure chests Of thoughtfulness That leaves a long after glow.
May the memories past Continue to grow From the seeds We two have nourished And may these roots Increase as the plants Of love must flourish.
So thanks sweetheart Before we part For the years of Heaven You have given me. I wish so much That those I've touched Could feel the love That came from thee. |
