BACKDOOR BUDDIES !

TEAM DRIVING -THE LOCAL OFFICIAL AND DRIVERS  SYNDROME

1. I don't care how well your car is built or how much talent or experience you have...the oldest "old trick" and situation that causes the most UNFAIR outcome and most miserable of experiences...is to have all your hard work and expectations of fun...reduced to a simple-minded officials attempt to eliminate you from "his buddies" competition....OR find out your in the same heat with the local "sandbagger" and his 14 "buddies" that's sole mission is to keep you from hitting the "king creampuff" and HOLDING you, until he can hit you. I know if you aren't one of these "Backdoor Buddies", you have experienced this problem.
2. Officials that inspect certain cars with a fine tooth comb, while passing over others quickly are crooked ! Officials that ask only certain cars to be inspected on a ramp while others are inspected on the ground are crooked. Officials that ask you to make changes to YOUR car, while he lets the guy pitted next to you get away with ANYTHING is crooked. Officials that follow you with a stop watch after you make a hit, while some guy sits in the corner and hides for ten minutes is crooked. Officials that let some clowns hit 5 or 6 driver's doors without saying a word and warns others for hitting anywhere on the same side...are crooked ! Officials that allow the same 5 or 6 cars to hold and beat on the same car while avoiding contact with each other...are crooked ! IN OTHER WORDS: OFFICIALS THAT DO NOT TREAT EVERYONE EQUAL AND HOLD EVERYONE TO THE SAME STANDARDS.... ARE CROOKED !!!!!
3. Look for driver's who arrive late to be inspected, hoping for a quickie and officials that let them do it.
4. DRIVERS, who ask you NOT to hit them and team up are REALLY saying..."I'll not hit you until it benefits me or when it gets down to my REAL buddies !" These type of guys hang together so YOU are never going to out rank them or be in a situation where it benefits you ! In other words you have belittled yourself for nothing and chosen to kiss someone's rear end that has the same moral equivalent as a cockroach. If you agree to hold someone for someone else, team up with others on weaker cars, bump and tickle your buddy until the heat is over, circle around until you find the car that someone else told you to take out or hold, or if you are one of the 4 or 5 creampuffs making hand signals to each other to make sure it's a team effort.....QUIT !, You're easy to spot and your making yourself look like an idiot and a pansy. Your also making the fans sick !
5. You know who these jerks are and the only answer is to get people who run the event that actually possess some backbone and make rules and guidelines that are supported by people who will stand by them and NOT back down or change for anyone. Officials are only human !!!! They will make mistakes !!!! Support those that stick by their decisions and try to be FAIR.  FIRM, FAIR, AND PROFESSIONAL IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOVERN ANYTHING !    
6. ANY derby where the same guys, take the top spots in the feature, are wallowing in this stinking pile of crap, which is NOT a competition, but a "Who's your Buddy Contest" ! They are usually officiated by other "Buddies" that tend to hang around these clowns garages, drinking beer and laughing about how they put the "screws" to honest guys like you. Kind of an inbred family reunion. THE ONLY thing that you can do is GET INVOLVED ! Find other drivers like yourself that want to compete fairly...petition the promoters of those events to make a change. Point out the fact that it is UNFAIR and keeping NEW people from getting started. That these actions present a danger to folks that run honest. Point out the problems with insurance, should an innocent driver get hurt. POINT OUT that fans pay to see cars hit HARD and want to see them sustain damage. After all it's called a "DEMOLITION DERBY", not a "GEE ! Look how I never got a dent in my car" derby. In my opinion... if you sandbagged and team drove to walk away with the trophy and prize money, you have only proven that you are a cheat and coward. NOBODY wants to pay to see bumping, sandbagging and tickling. Ask old drivers or gear heads to officiate or bring in officials from another area that have no FAVORITES to protect. I GUARANTEE THAT ONCE YOUR EVENT TAKES ON THE CHALLENGE OF CREATING AN HONEST AND FAIR EVENT, BACKED UP BY OFFICIALS AND RULES THAT INSURE IT...YOUR CROWDS WILL BE MORE ENTERTAINED...THE COMPETITION WILL BE BETTER...THE IDIOTS AND JERKS THAT CAUSE ALL THE TROUBLE WILL GO ELSEWHERE... NEW GUYS WILL START RUNNING, INCREASING THE SIZE OF THE SHOW...AND THE FUN AND ECONOMICAL ASPECTS WILL RETURN TO YOUR EVENT.
