cooling system craps !

  1. Large storage tanks of water, positioned in the back seat or trunk area, connected to the engine with a plumber's nightmare, have been made illegal in most sensible events. You can't make 25 gallons of water, circulating that far, get HOT...not to mention the added weight and traction supplied to the rear end. This sort of eliminates the object and purpose of the event.
  2. Radiators placed in any position other than the original mounting position is an unfair advantage. I have seen the firewalls cut out in old Imperials, allowing a small block Chevy engine and trans to be repositioned several feet from the front end, where the radiator actually sits between the front A-frames. It makes it really hard to get to!
  3. Any transmission cooler that travels beyond the firewall, allows more fluid to travel further and cools better. ANY TYPE OF COOLING SYSTEM INSIDE THE DRIVERS CABIN OR WINDOW OPENING CAN SEVERELY BURN YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE !!!! When it ruptures....NOT IF it ruptures, but WHEN IT DOES RUPTURE !!!!!
  4. The main concern about radiators is...RELOCATION, RELOCATION, RELOCATION, AND MORE RELOCATION
  5. Most rules say that the radiator must be placed in the original position or location. However, the rules never say anything about it being an original radiator ! I'll leave something for your imagination.
