fuel fraud !

  1. There is not a lot of infractions in this area, but one has been used that you should be aware of. It is typical to see people run a Ford carb on an adapter plate on a G.M. engine. This is because the float design works better when you are being spun in circles. However, what you thought might look like a Ford 2 brl., may in fact be an alcohol carb. Alcohol burns a whole lot COOLER than pump gasoline, reducing engine heat and increasing horsepower. The only drawback to this fuel is burns twice as fast. Have you noticed these guys that idle around most of the event and just when there are a few cars left, they spring to life and run like sprint cars. Obviously, they weren't only saving their cars from damage, but also SAVING FUEL!!!!
  2. Have your rules stipulate that pump fuels only are to be used.
  3. Hoses running from the throat of the carburetor at one end and through or over the firewall at the other end, so that a driver can spray ether or starting fluid through it is an old trick. This is stupid and dangerous !!!
