TIRE LIAR !

  1. Military tires, Bobcat, Ditch witch and others in a heavy duty, multi-ply, and directional tread are popular in size 16 and 16.5. Taking a Rim of this size and cutting out the centers and welding back in 15 inch centers has been done. Some are also available in 15 inch, but of course the previous is taller.
  2. If money is not a problem, the answer is "fork lift" tires or any filled in the same manner with solid rubber. These are filled with liquid rubber and allowed to harden over a couple of days, then long screws are driven through the tread area to the rim. Also the bead of the tire is screwed to the rim. Nothing is going to move and they certainly won't go flat.
  3. More sensible and economic methods are used and considered legal in some arenas. Cutting the tread from old tires and lining the inside of the tires you intend to use with several layers and then screwing the tire bead to the rim, prevents them from going completely flat. Filling the tire with fill foam, resin, or water is also used.
  4. Any non-D.O.T. tire is suspect.
