Among the illustrious Acharyas in the lineage of Sri Acharya Madhwa, Sri Vadiraja Thirtha occupies a very eminent place. Shri Vadiraaja, popularly known as 'bhavI samEra', is ranked next to the founder of our philosophy and occupies an important position in the history and development of dvaitha philosophy. . His contribution to dvaitha philosophy, Kannada sahithya and Sanskrit literature is of a very rare and high order.  Many haridasas have experienced 'aparoxathva' of of Shri Vadiraja and confirmed that Shri Sode rajaru  is none other than Shri Lathavya, the third in the R^uju gana, next to Shri Brahma and Shri vayu. Shri Lathavys will become Shri Vayu in the next Kalpa. Because of this supreme position and 'Anugraha Shakti' good many Haridasas have composed songs in praise of his alround supremacy. A few of them were published, but good many were hidden in family manuscripts. It is noticed quite a number of songs on Shri Vadiraja, which were not seen the light of the day. They have all (including the early-published ones) been collected and edited with a critical evaluation, and with a slant on the impact of the swamijis greatness. The publication contains 120 songs, composed about 50 (fifty) Haridasas, dating from 1680 to the present day. The earliest among them was Shri Prasanna Venkata Dasa. But it was Shri Vijaya Dasa and his disciples who were responsible for the spreading of Vadiraja cult in Karnataka. It is said that Shri Jagannatha Dasaru got 'prerana' to compose 'Harikathamruthasara' from Shri Sode Rajaru. Among the other composers, mention may be made of Shri Vishvendra Tiirtha, himself a pontiff of Sode matha, Shri Jambukhandi Vadirajacharya of the Bombay Karnataka , Shri Gurugovidna Vittala of Mysore and Smt Giribale of Udupi. What is surprising is that the number of Haridasa eulogising the Swamiji is increasing century by century. Following is a brief list of various haridasas and their compositions about Shri Vadirajaru.

Shri Srinivasa Havanoor has done lot of work in this field and edited a book titled " HARIDAASARU HAADI HOGALIDHA SHRI VAADIRAAJARU". In this book the songs have been grouped as follows:
- Those in praise of Hayagirva and other Supreme deities, as worshipped by Shri Vadiraja Swami.
_ Songs composed by Pontiffs.
_ Songs by the Senior most Haridasas (ie of 17/18 Centuries)
_ Songs composed during 19th and 20th centuries.
_ Songs on Shri Bhutaraja - a rare category.
In the introduction one finds a studied analysis of how the Vadiraja cult went on spreading and more so in the northern areas of Karnataka. The Mrttika Vrandavans of Shri Vadiraja are only about 8-10. And Havanur in Dharwad district is one such holy place. This book is a collection of more than 120 songs by various haridasas. This is a wonderful collection and provides us a clear picuture how shrI vaadhiraaja theertha's mahima had impressed these haridasas.

Here is a small account of haridasa's songs.
