Judicial Leader
This page explains how the Constitution gives
the President the power of being the Judicial Leader. This entitles
the President to the role of appointing judges to the Supreme Court and
to other federal courts. This is one of the President's most important
powers.
Appointing
Supreme Court Justices is the most important role that the President has
as a Judicial Leader.
The Supreme Court has the power
to interpret the law and Constitution, thereby having great effect on our
lives.
When the President
makes the decision of who to choose for the Supreme Court Justices he is
making a decision that will influence our country's government for years
to come. The justices he chooses share his own views on certain issues.
Pardon- an issue of declaration
of forgiveness and freedom from punishment
Reprieve- an order to delay
a persons punishment until a higher court can rule on the case
Amnesty- similar to a pardon,
but applies to a group, not an individual
