The Presidents Job As Judicial Leader

One of the Presidents jobs is to serve as leader to the Judicial Branch.
This job comes with many responsibilities that we will explain throughout this site.

The most important role of the President as Judicial leader is to choose Supreme Court Judges.  The President has an influence long after he leaves office because the Supreme Court Justices usually reflect his interests.  The Supreme Court Justices usually hold their job for life so the President still has an indirect influence on the government.

The Supreme Court has great power to affect our lives because it has authority to say if a law is acceptable or not.  It also has power to interpret the laws into everyday situations.

As Judicial leader, the President also has the duties to grant someone all of the following:
Pardon- which is granting forgiveness and freedom from punishment.
Reprieve- an order to delay a person's punishment until a higher court can rule on the cases
Amnesty- which is like a pardon but it applies to a group of people rather than an individual.
