HUMANITIES 9: CIVICS & ECONOMICS (C/E)

C/E DAILY ASSIGNMENT WEBPAGE

Dear Parents & Students,

In an effort to facilitate communication between students, parents, and myself and to reduce the number of missed assignments, I have created a web page designed to inform students and parents alike of our daily assignments in Civics & Economics.  The Daily Assignment Page will list class activities, test and quiz dates, and homework assignments(s) for each class meeting.  This page will help parents monitor their child's completion of homework and study habits; it will also enable students to easily access assignments that were missed due to an absence.  Please note that this web page is NOT designed to take the place of writing down homework assignments in class.  The Daily Assignment Page may be accessed two ways:

1.       Go directly to the Daily Assignment Page: http://www.oocities.org/bglane_54/ce.html

2.       Go to my homepage:  http://www.oocities.org/bglane_54/index.html

Then click on the Civics & Economics Daily Assignment Page link

I suggest that students and parents bookmark these sites on their home computer.  As they are quite long, bookmarking them will make accessing them a bit easier.

JUST A REMINDER ABOUT MAKEUP WORK

Retrieving missed assignments

Upon returning from an absence students may also check the Makeup Notebook to obtain missed assignments, test and quiz announcement, and class activities.  However, it is the responsibility of the student to be proactive in this endeavor.  Each student must check the notebook and take steps to obtain any handouts that may have been missed due to the absence.  Failure to do so will result in the student not getting the assignment; thus, the student will receive a zero on any assignment that is not turned in.  In short, please encourage your child to be aware of their responsibility to retrieve missed assignments.

Missing class when an assignment is due

If a student missed class the day an assignment is due, the assignment is due when the student returns.  It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the assignment is given to the teacher; otherwise, the student will receive a zero for the assignment.
