| What role does Crude Oil play in our society? | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| As we all know, oil has become a great controversy in our society. One of the most controversial subjects that has recently come up has been oil in the middle east, particularly Iraq, due to the plentiful supply in the middle east. This has been a political battle that has thrown out many different opinions on our governments foreign policy. Another problem that our government has stubmled upon is the availability of oil. Studies have shown that at the rate in which we are using oil, it is certain that our supply is limited. Therefore many people have taken it upon themselves to use the oil that we have wisely by conserving in many areas. Oil is a necessity to make many products that we use everyday, therefore withoutother alternatives, if we run out we will have a huge crisi on our hands. Another widely controversial subject woudl be pollution of the air. The hole in the ozone layer has been directly relatedt o pollution. Many feel that by simply cutting down the use of many petroleum based products, such as gasoline and burning oil in general, we could stop the rate at which the hole in the ozone is growing. Any way you put it, crude oil has become, in my opinion, one of the largest economical crisis in our society today. |
