| Reiki Therapy – Natural Healing What is Reiki? Reiki is made up of two syllables, “Rei” and “ki” and translates as universal life force energy. It is a natural healing method that is safe and holistic, and free from side effects. It can be combined with other complementary therapies and Western medicine, and its effects can be extremely powerful. Originally, Reiki came from Ancient Tibet and was rediscovered in 1870s by a Japanese monk, Dr. Mikao Usui, after many years of studying sacred books. What are the benefits of Reiki? Here are some benefits of Reiki: · Supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself · Is pleasant and holistic, vitalising body and soul · Re-establishes spiritual equilibrium/ mental well-being · Balances the body’s energies · Loosens up the blocked energy and promotes total relaxation · Adjusts itself according to the needs of the recipient Who would benefit from Reiki healing? Anyone can benefit from Reiki healing, from infants and small children to the elderly. Reiki heals at all levels, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Reiki has it’s own intelligence and does what is necessary to treat the patient. It could be to emotionally balance the patient, or to relieve physical pain. Also, depression, insomnia and other non-physical illnesses can benefit from Reiki. What happens during a Reiki Treatment? The patient lies fully clothed on a couch in a relaxing atmosphere. You will experience the touch of the therapist’s hands and their slightest pressure on certain parts of your body which will be non-intrusive. Patients normally feel deeply relaxed as the energy flows through your body. Some even fall asleep. You may experience Reiki as colours of pure love. You may feel peaceful or emotional as old patterns resurface. You may feel heat, coolness or even a tingling sensation in the part of your body that is being treated. Some patients don’t feel anything which is all right as well. After the Treatment Some people feel energised and others feel incredible peace. You can ask any questions or discuss what you felt during the healing session. If you feel you could benefit from a follow-up healing session then you can book a future appointment. |
