      Picking Up Cursed Items

Ever just leave weapons laying on the ground with special                properties because you didn't want to take the chance of them          being cursed and go through the hassle of looking for a shalille          mage to uncurse you?
All you have to do is go to Afiera D'xor
         in Jasper and say "Pupil".


He will give you one of three items for a faren quest (don't do the      quest). One of the items being a book.

You can open it up and write in it.
If he doesn't give you the book keep checking back with him every   couple of days (4 hours of online time) until you get one.

You can do this with a lute as well but a lute weighs a TON. The     book is light--Open the book and equip a shield and then pick up      the weapon in question. If it's cursed all you get is a message that it stuck to your hand but it doesn't equip it.

*(new)One more thing I just recently discovered was the letters you get from quests (e.g. Jasper Banker, Jonas, Duke etc.) that you can open and read can be used the same way as the book. And they are much lighter (I think).

Just open the letter, equip a shield, and then pick up the weapon in question and if it is cursed you will not be able to equip it but will still get the message.
