LIFE AFTER GRADUATION
Brooklyn College, the place where I spend most of my days, is basically half of my life after graduation. Fortunately, the other half is filled with time devoted to friends, family, and Torah!! The year right after graduation I attended TBY- a seminary in queens, along with college-something I definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for some torah in their day. After my first year in college I went to Neve Yerushalayim, a seminary in Israel, for a month. Though it was for an extremely short period of time, it was absolutely wonderful experience that I, once again, would recommend. Now I'm back in Brooklyn College taking my pre-requisites for Speech therapy and the many other classes that Brooklyn College requires one to take. |

MY EXTRA CURRICULARS
Extracurriculars - the stuff you always made sure to have when you were applying to college, and guess what? You still need to and should have some when you get to college!! Luckily, as with most colleges, Brooklyn College has plenty of areas for people to get involved. Currently I'm the office manager of the Brooklyn College Excelsior (the newspaper), I'm a coordinator/advisor of ROOTS EITZ CHAIM- the Orthodox club on campus which strives to get people involved in different activities. We publish a weekly Parsha Page and will IY"H have a Chanukah Chagiga very soonl. Aside for that, I help out a lot at the HIllel House, and volunteer in different areas related to Speech Therapy. CONSIDERING SPEECH THERAPY? I am majoring in Speech therapy and I love it! It's only my first 2 classes, but I am really enjoying them. In Brooklyn College speech therapy is tough and competitive, but if you're willing to dedicate your time to study and to work hard, then definitely go for it! It's a field with much demand, so the more the merrier. MY FONDEST BHI MEMORY Oh, there are so many but probably my class graduation trip as well as the many uplifting shabbatons that we had are the fondest memories. Actually, come to think of it, the years of being on G.O. are definitely times not to be forgotten!! BHI is a place that I can't ever forget, and am constantly reminded of it by the familiar BHI faces that I come across everyday!! THREE MESSAGES TO MY FELLOW ALUMNAE 1. I definitely think that everyone should go to Israel. My first real experience was when I went on Birthrite, and then the month in Neve. These were two unforgettable experiences that have really made a big impact on my life. Once again, I think everyone should go there! You won't regret it. 2. If you know something is right, don't let anything or anyone tell you otherwise. Just because everyone else is doing one thing, doesn't mean you should too. You are your own person, and that's why Hashem loves you. Of course, if people are encouraging you to be greater then take the time to listen, but definitely take your own approach in life, not everything is set in stone - something I only learned recently. 3. Please keep in touch. Remember: BHI is one big family. |
