"Hey, everybody. Let's hear it for Kristy! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!! At the ACE Awards Banquet tonight, Kristy was chosen runner up as the Teacher of the Year in our School District. This involves 7 schools and between 200 and 250 teachers. She won a plaque, $200 dollars, a gift certificate to several restaurants in town, and some tickets on the Heber Creeper. Verlin Law was the Master of Ceremonies. He would introduce a teacher's name, tell a little bit about each of them, and then they would show a video clip of two or three minutes with narration showing the teacher in the class room, receiving their award for their particular school, etc. They would then have a presenter, who would tell a little bit about the teacher and introduce them. Kristy had a little 1st Grader, who had made an illustrated book, which was poster size, and he read from it. He introduced Kristy, who gave him a hug, and then she took a couple of minutes giving her thank you's and expressing her philosophy of teaching. After they had honored each teacher from each school, they came back and announced the runner up and then the winner from the District. This was done by the Superintendent. He said some nice things about Kristy, made her presentation, and then gave her a minute to express herself once again. Needless to say, we feel that it was an honor well deserved!! Just thought that you would like to know." |
