McMurphy, D. L. "Mac" (Age 57) - born June 17, 1943 in Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away May 21, 2001 in Davenport, WA. Mac is survived by his wife, Joy L. Hart at their home in Chattaroy, WA; three children: Tiffany McMurphy attending Eastern Oregon University and will be married to James Freitag on August 4, 2001, Duane D. McMurphy and his two children Alanah and Levi, Patrick and his wife, Michelle, and their three children: Michael, Nichole, and Matthew; two stepchildren: Todd A. Tesarik and Cory L. Tesarik, both of Spokane, WA.; brother Mike, Phoenix AZ. Mac joined the U.S. Airforce in 1961 and retired from Hahn Air Base in Germany, as a Chief Master Sargent in 1988. After his retirement, he moved to Chattaroy, WA and became a volunteer firefighter/EMT at Spokane County Fire District #4, Station 42, in Chattaroy. His love of children prompted Mac to return to school to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Education degree and was pursuing his Masters Degree in Education Technology. Mac was currently teaching at Chattaroy Elementary School - First Grade. Funeral services Friday May 25, 2001 at 11:30 am. at Ball and Dodd North, 5100 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA. Mr. McMurphy will lie-in-state at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home - North on Thursday, May 24, 2001 from 12:00 - 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be sent to Chattaroy Elementary School Playground Fund, 24717 N. Yale Rd., Chattaroy, WA 99003.
