Airman dies Of Burns In Flash Fire
A Minot Air Force Base airman, Robert D. Nash, died early today from injuries suffered in a flash fire two months ago.
Nash, a 21-year-old member of the Fifth Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, died as a result of burns suffered on the afternoon of Jan. 13, according to officials at the John Moses Air Force Hospital
The accident occurred while Nash was refueling a gasoline heater in the aerospace ground equipment shop on the base flight line. He had been listed in satisfactory condition by hospital authorities.
Nash, an airman second class, was reported at that time to have suffered first, second and third degree burns over 20 per cent of his body. Nash had been a patient since his admittance.
The heater which Nash was refueling was a portable unit used to apply forced air heat to various parts of aircraft kept within a certain range of temperature.
Nash was a native of Bountiful, Utah and was married.

Service Friday for Robert Nash, Victim of Fire
A funeral for Airman 2.C., Robert D. Nash, 21, 6-11th Ave. NW, who died Wednesday in a Minot hospital after being burned in a fired two months ago, will be Friday at 10 in the chapel of Russell Mortuary.
Don Feist will conduct the Minot service and the body will be sent to Bountiful, Utah, where a service will be held in the Fifth Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. Burial, with military honors, will be in San Diego, Calif.
Airman Nash was a native of Bountiful. His survivors include his wife, Barbara. They had no children.
Reviewal at Russell Mortuary will take place Friday Morning in Minot.
