(Ogden) - Raymond Paul Brimley, 59, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He was born August 25, 1942 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, a son of John and Frances Wilkes Brimley. He moved to Utah in 1955 and attended Bountiful Junior High and Bountiful High School.
On March 18, 1978, Ray married Katherine Smith in Bountiful. They were later divorced. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army.
Ray worked for the U.S. Forrest Service for two years. He also worked for Bangerter Produce, Dunkley and Safeway Frozen Food Warehouse, and retired from Defense Depot, Ogden in 1998.
Surviving are one daughter and one son, Trishia Brimley, Roy: Sheldon Brimley, Twin Falls, Idaho: one stepdaughter, Mindy Magee, Roy: one stepson, J.C. Magee, Everett, Wash.: one granddaughter, Hanna Taylor: and four grandsons, Matthew Holden Brimley, Payne Brimley, Cody Todd, and Jordan Garcia.
Ray is also survived by his mother, Frances: two brothers: Vincent Brimley, West Bountiful, Bill (Laurie) Brimley, Murray, and his nephew, John Douglas Brimley.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, John.
Private memorial services will be held at this mother's home at a later date.
