I guess you're probably wondering how my trip back home was. Lets just say I am really happy and
satisfied now. Ahh.
It started off a little shaky with Northwest causing my flight to be delayed. I was worried I wouldn't
get home in time to eat at my mom's party! But never fear...I was only about 40 minutes late. I got off
the plane and saw Grant. I was pretty nervous. I mean, I hadn't seen him in 4 months. At first it was like
meeting him for the first time but one he took my hand and I kissed him everything seemed to fit back into place.
It felt so right.
Grant met my family and it was really nice. My baby cousin is getting so big! After everyone left we tried
to take a nap but how could i sleep when I hadn't spent any time with my cutie in so long? =) After just chilling
and catching up I finally got to meet his family at Thanksgiving dinner. It was my first time ever meeting my
SO's family like that...more than just the parents for more than just 15 minutes. hehe. It was nice though. He
has a really nice family. =)
Friday, I finally got to see the beach again...my favorite beach, Waimea Bay. The waves weren't very big though, but
its okay. It was really nice. And then of course we had Matsumoto's shave ice. yummy. But then we were
pretty full so we came back to my house, got a little jack in the box and just chilled while we watched
the first 2 episodes of GaEul DongHwa. WAH! Those are such tearjerkers! I cried so much! boohar. Poor EunSuh.
Shinae is such a bitc..er...I mean brat. heh. Grant thought it was funny that I was getting all into it
but he said he likes watching it with me cuz then he can wipe away my tears. haha. yeah, cheezy, but you
gotta love him. =)
That night was our date night. Our first "date". ^_^ It was really nice. We went to SanSei for dinner and
it was really good. I had this salmon dish which was really good aside from the fact that the shitake mushrooms
were too sour. I think they were cooked in sake. =P But it was really nice and Grant was so sweet. We then
went to see Bounce at Dole Theaters. Dole is just like the only theater we'll ever go to now. We're so spoiled. haha
It was a pretty good movie but a bit slow in parts. Ben Affleck is so cute. =P...but not as cute as Song Seung
Hun. OMG! SSH is soooooo fine in the drama!!! *melt* I kept saying that and Grant just looked at me funny. haha so cute.
Saturday I finally got to see Titan A.E. That is "our" movie. We wanted to see it way back when and I said
I would only see it with him..so yes, I was very satisfied when I saw it. It was really cute. I liked
Gune. John Leguizamo did his voice and it was so funny. =) I can't quite remember what happened after the
movie. Oh...I think we took a nap. It was such a nice nap too. ahhh. Then my bastard cousin in SF woke me up
and told me to get him a local style cookbook for his friend since he had forgotten when he was in Hawaii a few weeks
ago. I swear he is such a moron.
Saturday night was Tanya and Kekoa night. I told them we were gonna go to my favorite Korean restaurant, Sorabol, and
then would watch Unbreakable. I dunno about them sometimes. They apparently ate before we picked them up so they
weren't hungry at the restaurant. I was kinda insulted but I didn't say anything. I mean, what was I supposed
to say? Anyway, long story short...I don't think its my favorite Korean restaurant anymore. The feeling was
just killed by that night. boohar. Unbreakable was really good though. Near the end I was thinking "Hrmm, since its
by the same director as the Sixth Sense there should be a twist, but I guess not." But then right when I least
expected it, it happened. It was really good I think. Go see it. (kinda slow in parts tho) And then we
had to go home since it was Saturday night and Grant had to be home early (dangit for him having to wake up early
for church)
Sunday was a Tanya and Kekoa day. haha. We went to Pearlridge and I got to see the finished sand
sculpture. It was so nice. I also saw Erin working at Starbucks. That was the weirdest thing that happened
that day. =) I felt bad though. Tanya and Kekoa were bored and we didn't know what else to do. The mall is
only so big. Maybe we shoud've gone to Ala Moana. I was about to just take them home when I saw Diamond Head
from Red Hill. I even took a picture while I was driving. haha. Then I blurted out "We should go to Tantalus
some time." So they said "Why not." And so off we went. It is so beautiful there whether you go at night
or in the day. Hopefully I can get my film developed soon.
I had to speed back home since Grant was coming over to make dinner with me. Grocery shopping with him
is fun. And cooking too. Too bad my mom was there. She's so nosy and overbearing. She kept saying how
hungry she was and how she hoped that it tasted good. We were doing pretty well and I was actually getting
the hang of folding wontons. And THEN! Then there was the whold rice fiasco. My mom apparently doesn't
have a rice cooker anymore because she "didn't like how it left a rice film on the window sill." So yeah,
she makes it in a pot on the stove. Not so bad, but then when she saw how I measured the water (not the 1 digit
method but the flat palm/knuckle way) she snapped at me spewing some shit about it being unsanitary or something.
Hello! I had washed my hands. Sheesh. And so she made the rice and put WAAAAAAY too much water so it came
out too mushy. I was so humiliated in front of Grant. And all this because I didn't want to eat the frozen rice
my mom had. blech. I hate frozen rice. Grant tried to salvage the rice but it was hopeless. I don't like
long grain rice anyway. Its all about the sticky short grain. =P
Gosh, I'm only on monday? I'm sorry this is getting so long. Mian...so boring, ne?
So Monday...the errand day. Went to UH. It was nice walking on campus holding Grant's hand. Its always
the little things you know? Then we went to my house to get Jhoel's tea set that I still had from when I went to
Korea. I finally shipped the damn thing though. Grant is so handy with boxes and exacto knives. =) We also
went to Radford and I got Mr. Wilson to agree to write me a recommendation. I feel so bad for giving him such
short notice. *hanging head in shame* I even got to introduce Grant to him. Mr. Wilson proceeded to tell
Grant not to teach in Hawaii because the state and even the union doesn't take care of its teachers and you can
make a lot more elsewhere. I dunno...I was sort of glad he told him that...as if that alone is enough to
convince Grant to move to Cali with me after he grads in 3 sems. I can always hope tho. ;P
And then we had a costco dog for lunch! yummy! I love onions. I also saw this guy Edsel there who I
worked with at Mcds back in the day. He was like Boyet's best friend. It was kinda weird...but I'm happy
with Grant now so I can only hope that Edsel and Boyet are happy in their lives too.
Then it was time for shopping! I dunno about you guys but I love shopping with my bf. It was interesting
going with Grant, but he actually has an opinion and it was interesting learning things about him that I
didn't know before. =) And speaking of things I didn't know before, I didn't know he looked like such a
dork in high school. haha. We went to his house and he showed me baby pics cuz he owed me. haha. I saw his
hs pic first and I almost did a double take. My baby definitely has matured and grown into a handsome man. =)
Too bad I kept laughing at him the rest of the evening due to the lingering image of dorkiness. haha I think
i'm too mean sometimes. But hey, I was a dork too so its all good.
Dinner consisted of sushi being stuffed down our throats since we got to Genki 10 minutes before it closed.
But it was still good. I still remember the first time I went out with Grant, just the two of us. It was
to Genki Sushi on July 4th. That was way before either of us showed any interest. hehe. So yeah, we were
reminiscing. That and the walk on the beach when we first had "the talk." Walking on the beach again was so nice.
Too bad there were passing showers. Ahh. I didn't get home until around 3:30 am. But I wasn't complaining.
I got to spend my last night with my cutie.
We got boba and had Korean takeout before I went to the airport. It was yummy. And then I had to say
bye to Grant. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do in so long.. Grant said he was surprised I
didn't cry more like last time but I guess it was because I know I'll see him again soon. Well, not really
soon. More like 4 months. Spring break. erg. I can only hope it comes quickly.
So yeah, that was my vacation. The flight back was really short. I finished reading The Joy Luck Club
on the plane. It's a really good book...just like the movie. Now I'm just trying to adjust back to the cold,
my boring job, my annoying roommate, the stress of my upcoming CBEST test on Saturday, and the new shock of finding out 2 people
from different parts of my life are now seeing each other. But its so cute! Won and Lester...good luck!! heehee.
Dammit Min...I should've gone to your party to see it all happen...but hey, why the hell am I complaining? I got to
see my cutie and I even got some too! ;P
4 months...4...four...*sigh*
<3 always,
mah-rheee-yah
p.s. do I not look pale in comparison to him? aigo.
