Rashi, z"l, explains that the blessing he gave them was "and the pleasantness of the L-ord should be upon us, and the work of our hands will be established upon us, and He will establish the work of our hands." (Psalm 90:17). To understand the significance of this blessing here, we must say that it is well known that from the time that G-d's Will is revealed on one thing, there is the power to continue that blessing from then on. This is the same here. Based on the verse, "Hashem, teach me Your ways, I will walk in Your truth", that it seems to me, in my humble opinion, we should remember the teaching of our Sages that the Seal of G-d is Truth. It is known that if someone has the King's seal in his hand, whatever is written above that seal is strong and lasting. When the opposite is the case, if one does not have the King's seal, then one can write whatever they wish and it will not have any worth whatsoever. This is the same with serving G-d. If one has the Seal of the King of kings, the Holy One, blessed be He, which is Truth, then all of one's good deeds and all of one's Torah and Mitzvos remain and are everlasting. If, G-d forbid, one does not have the King's Seal, then all is destroyed and it is considered as if he had done nothing, and he had nothing to show himself before G-d. Similarly, the Bris is also called a seal. Someone who keeps the Bris, and does not violate His Bris, has the Seal of the King, and all is good. However, if someone does not have the Seal of the Bris, then all of his Service to G-d are considered to be nothing. Please understand this parable. |

During the time of the construction of the Mishkan, the Jewish people were worthy to reach this level. In actuality, the construction of the Mishkan was not dependant upon the works of the hands of men, but rather only because G-d gave them His Seal, therefore they were automatically attuned to the commands that G-d gave to Moses. (This is the meaning of the statement that Betzalel knew how to arrange the letters that G-d used to create the Heavens and the Earth. All of the work of building the Mishkan was not through normal human means, but through the Kabbalistic arrangement of Hebrew letters. This is not even through human means of thought, except through the mental strength that G-d gave to them to understand the depth of these arrangements of letters. This was because G -d gave them His Seal, so everything was automatically done according to His Will.) This is the blessing that Moses gave of "and the pleasantness", that G-d should give us the Supernal Pleasantness, which is the sign that He gave us His Seal, then, automatically, it will be that "the work of our hands will be established upon us, and He will establish the work of our hands." |
