I want to tell you about two important women in my life. These two women help me be who I am today.
This page is very hard for me to do, Its only been two years since my Mother passed away and three for my Grandmother. I miss them very much, they were always there for me, helping me grow, always teaching me things to help me in the future.

My Grandmother is Yakima and Flathead Indian. She was born December 23, l914, Her life was very hard, especially growing up when being Indian was not a source of Pride. Her Mother and Aunts were fair and turned their backs, on thier culture, insisting they were French Canadian, instead of being Indian. They never registered on reservations. My Grandmother felt out of place because she was dark and showed her heritage and was made fun of, she never forgot how she was treated.
My Grandmother was 13yrs old her Mother died of a bloodclot on her brain. She was shipped to serveral reservations to live, then she lived with her father, who died a few years later. After that she lived with her Aunt and her family, she was not happy living with her Aunt.
My Grandmother married young, and had four children which my Mother was the oldest child, the marriage failed, so she had to find work to support her children, which in the 1930's was not easy. The only work she could get was cleaning the home's of the rich.
My Grandmother taught me a lot of old fashion ways, which I use today, like how to make homemade nosedrops which I used when my children were young, how to dry up my milk when I was done breast feeding my children without medication and too numerous other things to name.

This rose is for my Mother, she loved roses, she loved growing them, and displaying them in her home.
My Mother was the oldest of Grandmas children, she helped her Mother with her siblings. Her life was just as hard as her Mothers, built on ignorance of others, poverty. When she was a young child a man came into thier lives. (This man soon became thier Stepfather, and my Grandfather, whom I totally adored, and miss him to this day. He loved my Grandmother and her children very much and made life so much easier.
My mother, for some reason had a very hard time when it came to finding the right man. Maybe she was looking for someone like my Grandpa. She married serveral times, and had 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls, a girl in-between each boy. I am the oldest girl, the second of the oldest. Our life wasnt easy never knowing from one minute to the next where we will live, or sometimes eat. We were in foster homes sometimes, but through it all my Mother worked hard to keep us children together and stuck by us even when it looked like things would never get better. I remember her not eating so what little we had we would eat first, never buying herself anything, She really sacrificed alot.
My Mother health started failing when she was in her forties, she discovered she had MS and then Diabetis, but she didnt give up, she continued to work and not let these things beat her.
When her last marriage failed, she had to start over and I think that took to much of a toll on her, She was depressed and let her health go, We didnt see it and one night after work she just went to sleep and never woke up. The one comfort I have is she didnt suffer too much and is with her Mom and Dad.
These two women I will miss so much, and nothing I can say will ever sum up the courage and dedication they had for their families.
I want to thank my Sisters, and Brothers for the wonderful things they said in my guestbook. They know what I am feeling, when it comes to Mom. I Love You All, miss you.
Here are some pictures of my Mom and Grandma and her Mother.
