Green Day History

First of all, Billie Joe Armstrong's real name IS Billie Joe Armstrong, not William Joseph or anything like that. His mother was high when she named him, no joke. Mike's real name is Mike Pritchard, and Tre Cool's name is Frank Edwin Wright III. (In case you don't know, he is called Tre because Tre equals Three, and he is the THIRD Frank.) Billie Joe was born the youngest of six children. He has two kids, Joseph Marciano and Jakob Danger, who he had with his wife of SEVEN (they celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary July 2nd) years, Adrienne Nesser. Billie met Adrienne (her nickname is 80) at a GD concert, and they got married in July, 1994. The ceremony only lasted 5 minutes. The day after they got married, 80 discovered she was pregnant with their first child! Billie wrote the song *80* off the album, *Kerplunk!* about Adrienne. Mike has one daughter that he had with his ex wife, but he is still on good terms with his ex. Billie and Mike met one day at the school cafeteria in high school , where they got to talking about their favorite bands. Mike later worked with Billie's mother at Rod's Hickory Pit and then payed rent to live in Billie's garage. Tre is expecting a child, and him and his ex wife Lisea have a daughter. Tre Cool was "Al Sobrante's" drum instructor! Green Day was originally known as Sweet Children. Their original drummer, (for 1,039 SOSH and Tracks 13-16 on Kerplunk!) was John Kiffmeyer, who sometimes went by the name Al Sobrante. (Al Sobrante was sort of a tribute to his home town, El Sobrante in California. Then, Al left and Tre stepped in from Tracks 1-13 on Kerplunk! and every album since. I hope this is how the band will always stay! I know most of you may be wondering what does the name Green Day mean? Well, Green Day is Bay-area slang for a day when you gather with your friends and basically smoke a lot of dope. (Thanks to 409 Online for that) BIRTHDAYS Billie Joe was born February 17th, 1972. (I was born on the 18th, a day late, a dollar short. :() Mike's is May 4th, 1972. And Tre's is December 9th, 1972.
