Summary: Bishop returns to Earth with vital information passed along by Professor X and his Skrull allies. Part of the plan has also been passed to Rogue by the Skrull mutant telepath, Z'cann. Realizing the scope of their task, the X-Men request the aid of the Avengers. Warbird and Goliath arrive and ferry the mutant team to the orbital base known as the Citadel.
While the core team keeps Ronan and his goons busy, Warbird, Rogue, Wolverine & Bishop sneak around to find the information they are seeking that will stop the spread of Ego. Bishop provides access to a Kree database but it's entirely in Kree! Carol can read it, but has no idea what to look for. But Rogue does! Realizing their dilemna, Rogue reluctantly asks Carol if she can absorb her mind in order to decipher the code. Despite her misgivings about Rogue, Carol sees the dire circumstances and willingly allows Rogue to absorb her mind and powers. Rogue extracts the information and the assembled heroes make their escaoe just as Ronan begins to assimilate the power of Ego!!!
NOTES: Once again, we are teased with a fleeting and ultimately unsatisfying encounter between Rogue and Carol! It's now firmly established that the pair of heroines will set aside their animosities over the past in order to work together in a crisis. But I want to see some interaction that has meaning!!! I want to see them have to really deal with each other! I want character development!!! Aaargh! The agony!
Well, at the very least this issue reaffirms that Carol's memories and persona are still a part of Rogue. I guess that's something! *sigh*
