A lot of people have made a custom along these lines, so it's hardly original, but I wanted to make a nice standard Batgirl figure. I'd seen the LOTDK Batgirl figure online a lot, usually customised into a more normal version, but I'd never seen one in person. When I did get hold of one, I was really impressed with it actually, and even considerred not customizing it and keeping hold of it...but I really wanted my standard Batgirl :-)
The sculpted costume was such that you could get away with just a repaint, which I have seen done, and it does work well, but I havn't customized in a while, and wanted to give myself a bit more work, so resolved to make her as accurate as possible. At first I was going to go completely accurate, like removing the boot spikes and stuff, but I decided to work with what was there for a more stylised look, and I think she looks really nice...I sanded away all the details and sculpted the boot tops and gloves (didn't do the bat-shapes on the boots properly but I think they look good) and found some random Bat-cape I had in my box, I don't know where it came from but it looks good on her imo. I'm really pleased with how she turned out, and I hope everyone else likes her too! |
