Project Objectives:
Reading and Language Arts

Writing:

Write a sequence of several proper and legible sentences organized around a theme.

1. Using English in a meaningful, real-world context, focusing on a timely issue

Gain information by listening to and reading articles, stories, and your peers' ideas.

2. Social, ethical, and human issues

Students develop positive attitudes toward technology uses that support lifelong learning, collaboration, personal pursuits, and productivity.

3. Technology productivity tools

Students use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing technology-enhanced models, preparing publications, and producing other creative works.

4. Technology communications tools

Students use telecommunications to collaborate, publish, interact with peers, experts, and other audiences.

Recommended For Students: Grades 9-12 (ages 14-18+)

Summary:

Students will be focusing on the topic of Tolerance and Prejudice. Have your class research the topic, read stories and then have your students do one of the suggested activities: write poems, Ss share their views on the discussion board, write their own story, fable etc., or they might use an idea of their own. Then send students' work to us to be posted on our website. Mr. Blasszauer will accept all submitted work electronically. We are able to open documents in any Word document. If you have something other than this application please send within an email message. Please keep graphics down to under 10. These should be saved as either gifs or jpegs. Please include title and author in your final submission.

All materials are due by
May 15, 2003, but you may send them sooner if you have them completed. We will work to post the work as it comes in to us. We hope to have all posted by April 15th at the latest. The site will remain posted to be used as a resource for teachers and students.

Number of Participants:
There will be a separate page for ten participating classes.

Research a certain aspect of tolerance and prejudice

Discuss the concept of tolerance, give examples of intolerance and prejudice you have encountered in your life

Create a play, poster

Feel free to use your imagination and add to this list. Interactive writing as well as shared writing and independent writing activities are encouraged.
