Since the birth of  Charter of  the Fundamental Rights of the European Union, Nice (France), December 20th, the debate on what is European citizenship has been very active. You are  highly encouraged to be part of this debate and to participate!

 

Tasks:

You are going to work in a group of 4.

 

One will be a European Member of the European Parliament. He will try to explain the European values bearing in mind the European citizens’ opinions.

 

Another will be an official in charge of creating  a citizenship test for immigrants seeking to take  the European citizenship test.

 

One will have to organise in his/her school or on  the Internet a referendum on European values and citizenship. Based on the documents he will have to imagine questions on these  intricate issues.

 

Finally, the last one will be a journalist. He will have to write a paper on what the man in the street thinks about European values.
