FIVE FINGER PRAYER

  1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

  2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

  3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders.  Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

  4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

  5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all. Which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself.

By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.

The man who kneels to God can stand up to anything.

Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now.

Lord, show  them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to  minister to their spirit at this very moment.

Where there is pain, give them Your peace & mercy.

Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed  confidence in Your ability to work through them.

Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, patience, & strength as they learn submission to Your leading.

Where there is spiritual  stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You.

Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage.

Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friend's life.

Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it.

I ask You to do these things in Jesus' name.  Amen!

STAY FIRM

He has not failed thee, in all the past. and will He go an leave thee to sink at last ?

Nay, He said He will hide thee Beneath His wings:

And sweetly there in safety Thou mayest sing.

"The Lord is Thy Keeper" (Psalm 121:5)

CROSSROADS

Author Unknown

Sometime we come to life's crossroads and View what we think is the end,

But God has a much wider vision and He knows it's only a bend--

The road will go on and get smoother, and After we've stopped for a rest,

The path that lies hidden beyond us is Often the part that is best.

So rest and relax and grow stronger

Let go and Let God share your load, And have faith in a brighter tomorrow

You've just come to a bend in the road.

-Amen-
