THE STORY OF NOAH
church of Christ
A long, long time ago when the earth was very young,
their lived a man called Noah.  In the whole world, no other man was like Noah, he was a very good man.  All the rest of the people on earth didn't want to listen to God and did many bad things.  They hurt God and made him very sad.  Because Noah was a very good man, God pick Noah out of all the people of the earth to build an Ark.

The Ark was a very big boat and God told him how to build it.  It was a really big job for Noah, but he loved God and did what  God told him to do.  The Ark had to have enough room for Noah and his family and some of each kind of animal on earth.  Some of the animals he brought two of, some of the animals he brought seven of them.  He had big animals like elephants and small ones like rabbits.  He had cows, bugs and birds and many, many more kinds of animals.

One day after Noah had all the animals and his family on the Ark, it started to rain.  It rained for forty days and forty nights and the whole earth was covered with water.  Noah and his family had to take care of all the animals while they were on the Ark, by feeding them and cleaning up after them.

Looking out one day they had seen the rain had stopped, Noah turn a dove (a bird) loose and it didn't come back.  They knew the water was going down and it was almost time to leave the Ark.  Noah and his family and all the animals left the Ark to find new homes and places to live on earth.

God created the rainbow for a promise he gave to Noah that as long as the earth stood, he would never cover the whole earth with water again.
