Places of the Heart
This page is dedicated to stories and places that have touched my heart.
As I sit and ponder what has been my life, I know I have not had it easy. But when I read some of these pages I realize, it could have been worse. As Ken said it can happen to anyone. And it does. We can try to prevent diseases, but that is only half the battle. We can only hope and pray that if it does happen, we have someone to hold our hand through it. I have been blessed with caring daughters, that I know would stand beside me no matter what. And even though my husband and I have a strained relationship, he has been very supportive since my accident.
I commend these people for their strength

Children are our greatest asset!! We need to stop the cycle of abuse. An abused child is more likely to grow up to be an abusive parent. If we don't put an end to it now, when will it end???

Have you really stopped and thought about what it's like to be a child now? It is so much more dangerous for them, then it was for us, even 20 years ago. When I was young, my mother really didn't thing any thing of allowing me to walk my dog during the day. It was fairly safe, as long as she knew where I was going and how long I was going to be gone. Times have really changed, and not for the better either. Now it's not even safe to be outside in your own yard! We need to find a way to make it safe for our children again!! It is not fair for them to live in constant fear!!!

There are only a few here now. But I will be adding more.
I hope these pages help you in some way. I know they have given me a reason to count my blessings.

Everyone should prepare for the worst I guess, that way they

will be ready in case something does ever happen. Do you know if you have someone to turn to for support, in case the unthinkable should happen??

And what of a living will?? Not something a healthy person would

think about. But there are not only diseases to worry about, but accidents also. Do your loved ones know what you want done if something should happen to you? I'm not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic.

We have had the unthinkable happen to children in our family.

(One of which I'm trying to write.) Not by a member of our own family, that much I feel I need to say. Although I have been married to abusive husbands, who are trying hard to get themselves under control. But by strangers, I have added "About Amy" though as of yet not finished. It happened almost 10 years ago, but it hurts like it happened yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don't miss her still. As of course everyone that loves her does. For even though she is not on earth, she still lives in our hearts.

LET'S NOT FORGET ABOUT AMY LYNN THATCHER
I will also try to post the next "The Amy Award" presented to young people in recognition of commitment to their community.
