| ~ Dakhanavar ~ | ||||||||||
| The only known record of the Armenian vampire known as Dakhanavar is an account reported by Montague Summers which was originally told by Baron August von Haxthausen in 1854. According to the region's folklore, Dakhanavar was a guardian of sorts who protected the valleys within the Caucasas Mountains by attacking and sucking the blood from the feet of intruders. At one point, with knowledge of the vampire's method of protection, two men made an attempt to outwit him by sleeping with their feet under the heads of each other. Dakhanavar, believing he had come across a being possessing two heads and no feet, left and it was the last ever heard of him. |
