I think of this page as the idiot's notice board. There are certain obvious things about The Blue Lagoon that a lot of people just don't know, when it seems like they should. I'm compiling a list of these things, and I'll have more up soon. If you have a FACT about the movie that a lot of people don't know, and I've left it out, email me and I'll put it up. The Nudity

The first item I'm putting on this list has to be the nudity issue. I've seen a lot of image compilations titled "Brooke Shields Nude!" etc., and upon emailing their creators about them, they are surprised to find out that it is a body double. I frequently get the response "But you see part of her face and it looks like her while she's swimming!" So? It's not her! It's a woman named Kathy Trout (mostly), who was hired to catch dolphins for the movie (she never caught one), and who also served as a caterer when there was nothing else to do. Christopher Atkins isn't shown too naked, but he was eighteen when he filmed this (Brooke was about fourteen), and there is some nudity involving him. But not anything to get in a tizzy over. The only instances where you see Brooke nude are in action shots, or in different camera angles. Most often this occurs when she is running, climbing, or standing above the camera. You have to freeze-frame very carefully to catch it, and it's always partially obscured by some semi-sheer piece of clothing. So, idiot's notice board newsflash! The woman underwater isn't Brooke!
