Stories, photos, memories and memorials of our ship and its crew and air groups. In late 1944 thru 1945 the men and planes of the Big "T" were highly successful in several naval battles and operations.
   On 21 January, 1945 the carrier was severely damaged by two Japanese Kamikazes. Many men were killed and wounded. This site honors the courage and bravery of the men who did thier very best to save the ship and thier fellow shipmates, as well as those who died defending thier country
