We are a lesbian couple that are interested in adopting. We are both birthmothers, and know the feelings of helplessness, fear, rejection and uncertainity. We have tried to conceive for two years, and we are trying again. In the meantime, we are looking to adopt.
We are not looking specifically for an infant. A teenager would be fine too. Due to the layout of our house, we can not have wheelchairs, but a special needs child would be wonderful.
We have joint custody of my sons from a previous marriage, they would also love to have a sibling! We have a beautiful nursery fully stocked with clothes, toys, and everything a child would need for the first few years!
We are very interested in some openness in an adoption. We believe that the child and birthparent need information about eachother.

Some things we like to do are walking around the malls, going to garage sales, taking the kids to the zoo, concerts and the skatepark. We enjoy being with our friends. We choose to surround ourselves with people that support us in our lives, and don't condemn us for our choices. Most of our friends have children. There are ALWAYS kids at our house! We bought a mini-van so the boys' friends could go places with us also.
I work for Disney, so I am just an adult kid! The family is laughing alot, usually at my dumb jokes, but we do have fun. Disney is a very open company. I can put Theresa on my insurance there, and a child that we adopt. My co-workers are very supportive.
We have talked about adopting a pregnant teenager that is in foster care. That way she can raise her child, have a secure home, and still be a kid also. We wouldn't want to take her child from her. The mother/child relationship is very important to us. We wouldn't want to see a mother being forced to give her child up, or to raise the child alone with no support.
