Within the lessons and classrooms of BOA, we will embark an many new knowledges and many more old theories and thoughts. Beacause of our many resources collected over the years, BOA has access to many journals, books and others not found on-line or readily availible.

We will touch on topics such as sexuality, drug use in spirituality, violence, passive aggression, inner peace, prejudice, paths of magicks, spiritual and religious paths, self confidence, societal wellbeing, and much much more.

The list goes on forever, but there are many mentors with many levels of ideals to be taught. Not only do we have them written, but we also have live lessons and lectures. BOA grows in knowledge as you do. We are open to new ideas and tend to seek knowledge in places that most people have dismissed. We believe that knowledge can come from anywheres and thus many topics should be taught. Below you will find excerpts of some of our current lessons and guidesheets, just so you get an idea of the kind of information taught:

From Lesson 0-0

BOA is a society of like-minded individuals that have joined together to learn and teach the subject of spirituality.

Sounds simple huh? So what's the big deal? Well, the big deal is that people often fear what they don't understand. When people are fearful, they act out in odd ways -- often errupting into violence.

Our Mission

To give man a spiritual foundation he can live by without shame, guilt or prejudice

Our Mission, as stated above, is to teach of spirituality, but more specifically to give man [kind] a spiritual foundation he can live by without shame, guilt or prejudice. This is important to remember. We will never under any circumstance condemn you or intend to make you feel guilty. We do not believe in teaching shame, guilt or prejudice or teach by such means. we, as a group, believe that teaching by way of uilt, shame and prejudice is nothing more that propaganda used to brainwash students into being controlled.

From Lesson 0-2

Before we begin this lesson, i want you to understand that using astral projection is a controversial matter. It is highly defended and rebuted. I will not pretend that everyone believes in such ability, nor will i tell you that no one believes in it.

This lesson is included in the novice level to bring awareness only. Please keep this in mind as you read and become aware of the phenomenon.

The first question of all learning no matter what the topic should be "what is (place subject here)?". So i will attempt to give you the learned definition of astral projection.

The word Astral, according to Webster's Dictionary has the following definition:

  • 1- of or relating to the stars
  • 2- consisting of stars
  • 3- of or relating to mitotic aster
  • 4-of or consisting of a super sensible substance held in theosophy to be next above the tangible world in refinement
  • 5- visionary
  • 6- exalted

The word Projection is defined by the same resources as:

  • 1- a systematic presentation of intersecting coordinate lines on a flat surface upon which features from the curved surface of the earth or celestial sphere may be mapped
  • 2- the process or technique of reproducing a spatial object upon a plane or curved surface by projecting it's points
  • 3- a transforming change 4- the act of throwing or shooting forward
  • 5- the forming of a plan
  • 6- a part the juts out
  • 7- a view of a building or architectual element
  • 8- the act of perceiving a mental object as spatially and sensibly objective, something so perceived
  • 9- the act of externalizing or objectifying what is primarily subjective
  • 10- the display of motion pictured by projecting an image from them upon a screen

For the purpose of this lesson, we will be using the following definitions:

- Astral: of or consisting of a super sennssible substance held in theosophy to be next above the tangible world in refinement - Projection: the act of externalizing oorr objectifying what is primarily subjective

Using these definition, we can clearly see that Astral Projection is "the act of externalizing Mystical insight".

Okay, now that we know exactly what it is, do we truly know if it is possible? This is a sticky question. Some will say yes, some will say no. At the end of this lesson, you will find links to both arguments, but for the sake of this lesson, let's assume that it is possible.

From Lesson 0-3

There are 3 main types of tools that are used:
  • Elemental
  • Divination
  • Miscellaneous

The Elemental Tools are those that are most common and most needed in performing rituals, rites or spellcraft. They are found in most instruction and used in most ceremonies, no matter the denomination of your path. Divination Tools are those tools used to aid in insight and instinct. They are most often used by those curious of the future or who are seeking information from "supernatural" forces. The Miscellaneous Tools are tools that are used in conjunction with others. Many of them are not necessary, but add to the "ceremonial" effect or feel of the the rite, ritual or craft that you are performing.

Listed below you will more information regarding each of these types as well as individual information about each tool, how it is used and it's appearance when possible.

1.)  Elemental Tools:  In the magical world of spells and the craft, there are four fundamental and elemental tools: the dagger, the wand, the cup and the pentacle or disc. Each is described below with a small description of uses and design.

A - The Dagger

There is much confusion about daggers, athames and swords. Also the color of the handle is a subject of debate traditionally black or dark colors are preferred for athames and yellow or white for air daggers.

The Athame is the Black Handled Knife use to cut necessary things for the circle such as the pentagrams in the quarters and the circle.  It should be mentioned herein that the Athame need not be a black handled knife.  It is the opinion of the authors that it suit the person who uses it.  It is also used to invoke and banish things that are unwanted or needed in the circle and is considered to be an extension of the users "self".   This includes will, spirit, thought, emotion and manifestation as well.

It should be mentioned here that the Athame is never used for cutting things like meat, thread, plants or anything else considered a solid object on this plane.  (Use of this blade for self defense will make it null and void for any magickal use again.)

The written history of the Athame as a magical tool comes from the Lansdowne Manuscript dated 1202 and the Sloane Manuscript dated 1307.  Before we go further it must be stated that this information was evidently known and practiced well before these manuscripts were written.  These are considered to be the survivors of the book and Witch burnings of the inquisitions.

The material contained in these manuscripts is Quabalistic in nature.  In the book The Key Of Solomon, L.W. deLaurence's 1914 translation of the manuscripts states that the Black Handled Knife"...is for making the Circle wherewith to strike terror and fear into the Spirits. It should be made on the day of Mercury, the Hour of Saturn, tempered "thrice" by fire and dipped into the blood of a black cat and juice of hemlock."

The Athame is nothing like it used to be.  It is the considered opinion that the Athame is the Center and part of the other four quarters as well, not just the East in wiccan belief.  It is said to be the controlling factor and extension of "Self" in magic.  The Athame is considered to be a tool of center, of self, of evocation and banishing. The Athame is the tool wielded of one's own will, thoughts, emotions, and intuition, over all of the Elements and over ALL. It is used to command the spirits that are evoked, invoked, and banished.

The moment one strikes a relationship with the blade is the beginning of it's consecration. The purpose of consecration is to embed the focus of it's purpose in one's own mind and the very metal of the blade. Cleansing a clearing is the symbolic refinement of the blade. Binding makes the blade truly one's own, and extension of self in the center of the Universe. Charging is the energy from within the self projected through the blade and outward in the direction of ones intent.
