There is an honest answer to that, but before i answer that, i ask you the same questions. Why have you come to BOA? Why not join another group? I ask you to think about it long and hard before you answer. The answer might possibly surprise you.

Now for my answer...

I've tried many paths. Walked down many roads and still tried many ponds to nurish my spirit, mind, body and soul. None of the previous paths completely fit what i was seeking. Each had it's good points, but those that i disagreed with were too strong of a con for me to deal with. Spirituality is a very important aspect of my life. It completes who i am. It is not something i believe that myself nor anyone else should have to compromise.

It is with this idea that myself and the original High Priest created this organization. We have taken the general ideas that we believe are relevant and combined our knowledges to create this organization. BOA is a living and growing organization that works on a peer to peer basis.

We do not have a true hierarchy, but we do have students teaching students as we are all students throughout our lives. Even though we have high clergy and a written hierarchy, I am learning alongside of our students as well. Our hierarchy is nothing more than the organization of knowledge and leadership. We will not make you feel guilty or ashamed of yourself if you are not learning as fast as the next student. We will not force you to attend every lecture or class. Unlike many groups, we prefer that you work at your own pace. We are here when you need us. That is our jobs as mentors, friends and family.

I kinda got off topic as to why BOA... (see, even i'm not perfect).

Anyways, the basic idea was to create a learning environment that was open enough to teach knowledge, not prejudice. I will be honest with you, i am prejudice. You are prejudice. We all are. We are taught by those around us. This is how we all learn. Here however, we try to make it an equal and safe ground where everyone can learn without the influences of outside interference. BOA is about knowledge. It is about learning. It is about acceptance and growth. Most importantly, it is about you, me and us.
