Allan and Teresa's 1972 Boler:
Hobie!
Teresa and I have a 1972 Boler that we purchased 2 years
ago. It was in good condition, not a rip or tear on the original upholstery,
but still needed some work done. We cleaned the upholstery, fixed the water
storage tank, put new ties on it, resealed the windows, cleaned the rest
of it up nicely and gave it a nice paint job to match our old car. We have
a Sunlight yellow with black top, 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint convertible in
immaculate condition. Our Boler now is Whimbleton white (off white) on
top and Sunlight yellow on the bottom. We also put matching, optional,
Falcon wire hubcaps on it, to add a bit of pizzaz. We love it and take
it with us to many sporting events. When we are not using it it sits in
the underground parkade out of the weather. I race the Falcon once a year,
for fun, in the Old Time 1/4 miles drag races, so it comes along
for our pleasure and we also like to camp at easily accessible lakes, so
we get a lot of use out of it. Last summer we towed it 5,000 miles behind
our (air conditioned) Pontiac Grand Am, from our home in White Rock through
Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and Oregon.
We were in Wyoming enjoying watching the river rafters going down the clear
water rapids of Snake River when we decided that we liked the trailer so
much that we should give her a name. We now have a name for our cute little
Boler, her name is "Hobie" (not hobby).
We drew the attention of many people as we passed by and
were stopped and quizzed in detail by a man in Utah whom wanted very badly
to find one to tow behind his compact truck.
Teresa and I live in White Rock, B.C. and have spotted
four other 13' Boler trailers in various condition within 5 miles of where
we live.
