Big Bone Creek (watercourse)

Big Bone Creek runs into the Ohio at mile 464.2, and is the southern-most point of the county on the river. It is 516.8 miles below Pittsburgh, and is navigable for about two to four miles, depending upon the water depth. It is joined by Mud Lick Creek about four tenths of a mile from the mouth. Some older maps show the main stream as Mud Lick running into the Ohio, with Big Bone Creek as the tributary. (Either way is the same; we can say the Ohio runs into the Gulf of Mexico, and the Mississippi joins it as Cairo, Ill., which I think makes more sense anyway.) The creek runs through Big Bone Lick State Park, but it not navigable at that distance from the river.
